I think that Navasota is in no man's land. We could go North as you've stated or South.. Houston area

Mineola would have to opt up if the cutoff is 450. Also, what do you do with Pleasant Grove and Atlanta? There are no other similarly-sized 3A schools in that area of the state.

I would take out Mineola and Bullard and replace them with Atlanta and Pleasant Grove.

Im thinking that El Campo will likely be placed with Bay City and Brazosport. Not sure which direction they will go for the other members of the district.

Mineola should be 3a.

Are schools with high 2A numbers allowed to opt up to 3A? I've never heard of one doing this at that level.

If I'm Mineola with a 447 enrollment, I'd want to be the largest school in the new 3A Division I rather than the smallest school in the new 4A Division II.

Central Texas District

Div 1 China Spring, Robinson, LaVega, Gatesville, Lampasas. Possibles depending upon which way they go: Navasota, Alvarado, Burnet.

Div 2 Connally, Lorena, Fairfield, Groesbeck, Hillsboro

3 A Div 1 West, Troy, McGregor, Rockdale, Cameron, Academy.

Wharton has to be in the same district as El Campo since it's only 10 miles apart. Would have to add Needville, Sweeny, Columbia Royal and Sealy
Columbus could be in a district with La Grange, Smithville, Giddings, Cuero, Yoakum
Stafford would be put in district with Houston ISD schools with La Marque

Depends what the cut if is. China Spring, Robinson and La Vega are all below 750.

As far as distance, those would be some long road trips. Sealy, Splendora, Houston schools are much closer.

Nope. Good for Carthage. At least if they go D1 they'll have a chance to get out of region 2, that is, unless they get lucky and go to region 3 again.

I remember when Columbus went one direction, Rice Consolidated in a different direction. And they're neighbors. UIL failed geography.

But yes scoop. One would think that Bay City, Wharton, El Campo, and Needville, Columbia would be together.

Brazosport used to be lumped with LaMarque back in the day. Remember they once sent Needville towards LaMarque.
