Just looking at some of the early playoff projection pairings coupled with the finish of district play, I wonder how many of the top teams have been challenged or will be challenged very hard before they get deeper into the playoffs. Stephenville comes very much to mind in this regard. There could potentially be some horrible mis-matches in RD1.

Stephenville won't be challenged until at least the 3rd round. Last year that was vs Wylie and was thought to be a closer game than it turned out to be.

Bullaholic, that's a good question. One could look at that topic as a pro or con depending on the strength of match up from week to week.

Pro-- If teams play weaker match ups, they get to work on execution, gain playing time experience for the 2's and 3's. They key to this is the coaching staff has to instill a high level of expectations and keep the team believing. This was the case for Stephenville last season. Really didn't have a stiff challenge until Kilgore.

Con-- If teams get challenged week to week, the risk of injury is higher due to fatigue. Less players gain experience in the playoff atmosphere...Etc.
Just some quick advantages and disadvantages to both scenarios.

I think starting next season, we'll see less mismatches since the division will be devided from the start. We'll see how this all shakes out.

I agree, Hollywood--going to Division exclusive games will help the competition a lot. Sure wish things could be taken a step further with an NCAA type tournament seeding for the playoffs where only truly the best end up playing each other in the later rounds.

Here is a look at Graham's projected path...

1st round - 58 point favorites over FW Castleberry
2nd round - 37 point favorites over Llano
3rd round - 20 point favorites over Perryton
4th round - 10 point favorites over Shallowater
5th round - 10 point underdogs to Gilmer

3A Region III D1 is gonna come down to WOS vs Silsbee Week 10 for the 21-3A teams. Top half of the bracket much lighter without the likes of Carthage and Navasota just judging from rankings. No offense to any other team. I know Palestine and Robinson are no pushovers plus WOS will be the smallest team in the bracket unless Bridge City beats us for the first time ever this Friday.

Depends on what region you come out of. A lot of times the only chance you get to playing a scrub is in Bi District. Its probably a team that has no business being in the playoffs. Area is 50/50 a scrub a scrub could have made it by or came from a bad district. Regionals is usually where you get an legit playoff team unless your in bad region. Of course your team could be just great and make the opposing team look very bad or get a team like 163a District of Doom in Round 1 ( Good Luck).
