Why the hell didn't they squib it to begin with?

I'd say fine Brownwood ISD $5k and suspend that kid at least a half!

Burnet has a great kicker that has kicked almost all Kickoffs out of the endzone. He had wind at his back so they let him take a rip at it hoping to kick it out of the endzone! Didn't work like they expected it to!

I don't care how good of a kicker you have...don't put it in the air with the lead late in games. Poor decision by the staff not to squib or pooch kick it.

:tisk: Never never kick it deep at that point. That was the only way you could lose.

Looked like bullying to me.

Burnet had a heck of a kicker. He had been knocking them out of the end zone.

They had the wind and I would guess since their defense had been able to handle us pretty well in the 2nd half that the idea was to touchback us and handle it from the 20. Oh well...shoulda coulda ...

Marshall lost in 1988 play offs to Carter because they squibed it giving Carter a shorter field

Amen! Execution is key. Props to Brownwood for never giving up. That's the point! That kid has some speed. Looked like he was jogging. lol

Copperas Cove and A&M Consolidated's famous game winning kick off return was also a squib.

Refs, the blind side block on that could of been a penalty correct?

Got to watch this on the Hudl video so two much better views than whats on the link. Bwood set up a perfect wall and ontiveros just followed that seam all the way. The blind side block? the bwood blockers head was in front of the defender and he clearly had his head and shoulders below the defenders head a shoulders. A really good block is what it was.

That's what I saw. If you pause at the point of impact, it's clearly a legal block. Burnet player should have been hustling more. Didn't have his head on a swivel! lol
