Sinton-Orange Grove

Very important D30 game. If Sinton looses, the district championship will most likely be decided in the final week of the regular season between Orange Grove and Ingleside. If Sinton wins then there could be a three way tie for the district again. If Sinton wins and Orange Grove beats Ingleside in the final week there will will be a three tie. If Ingleside beats Orange Grove then Ingleside would take district. ( I'm making the assumption that Sinton, Orange Grove and Ingleside win all their other district games.)

I am going with OG in a close one. "Homecoming" game for OG, since their original homecoming game was moved to Calallen. Hope it is not too much of a distraction. Wish we could just cancel homecoming instead of making it up.

Sinton defense has improve over the last two games compare to how teams were moving the ball on Sinton the games before that. Don't think Sinton ever got back to back stops before Laredo game. Orange Grove seems loaded on offense from the offensive line and wide receivers, should be a very good test for Sinton defense on how far they've come from earlier in the season.

Sinton has to put points on the boards when they get into the red zone, which has been a problem since the Yoakum game when they fail to score 4 times in that game inside the 15. Moving the ball hasn't been a problem and they always go for it on 4th down as long as its within a few yards. Think Sinton has punted only 4 times.

Haven't seen Sinton play, but OG can put up points in a hurry. This is my first year down in the Coastal Bend area, so not familiar with all the schools OG has played. Don't know if they are perenially good, bad or what. Ready for a great game though!!

At this point, Orange Grove comes in averaging 48 pts/gm and Sinton 36 pts/gm.

This game is going to be closer than some might expect. I think OG makes it a 3 point difference by kicking a field goal and comes out with the win.

I'm not sure which program roster you are looking at. It has changed from the beginning of the year. The one in this last program was the most recent.

My observation from last weeks game is that Sinton's D is very suspect against the big play. A team like Ingleside will beat you with the big play. From what I heard Orange Grove is a big play team also. I think the Sinton coach will make the adjustments. As I said I think Sinton will win by 10.

By the way, "ifs" are always the difference in winning and losing.:D

This one is a tough call. I suspect BOTH teams are much improved at this juncture of the season, lol. The Grove does have Coach Bomar tweaking that offense and I'm sure he has a very capable staff helping to teach the kids quality techniques. Sinton is a perennial playoff team, but lookout for these Bulldogs. Something tells me this game will go back and forth with lead changes, and may be decided by the team that has the ball last. Looks like a legitimate toss-up game to me....too close to pick a winner.

Because we don't have the speed to cover long kick-offs. When we did keep it deep they returned it to the our 35. I'll take giving them the ball on their 35 or 40.

I'm going with Sinton in this one, I haven't seen OG beat a quality team as of yet. The one thing that worries me is Sinton is known to give up points in some games, even though OG hasn't play anyone they will still be pretty salty on offense. All in all this is going to be a great game, if this game was played in Sinton I would skip our game and go watch it.

2006 Orange Grove beat us 16-10 in Orange Grove ending Sinton 33 game district win streak and Orange Grove also beat us in our 1-9 season in 2007 26-21. Sinton has won the last 5 times against Orange Grove and 9-2 overall. Sinton and Orange Grove just started playing each other in the 2000's and don't see any games between them before Y2K

Sinton running game got a big boost with freshman getting some carries, 5 carries for 75 yards. Offensively 284 yards rushing against Ingleside with several getting some carries to help out Handson with Handson still getting 115 yards on the ground.

Pirates have a lot of young receivers and each game will help before the playoffs. IMO they're improving and hopefully be peaking at the right time.

Sinton for 3rd straight game hold the opposition to under 100 yds rushing. Orange Grove wr to fast to cover on those quick outs, Sinton has done a better job of tackling and keeping the run after the catch to only a few yards.

Orange Grove passing attack is good, Sinton was able to put some pressure on qb and stopping the run helped to stop some of their drives.

These two teams always play each other tough. OG has a very good passing attack. Sintons passing that they had for many years has taken a back seat to the run. What ever it takes to get it done. Great game and good job!!
