Good news. It is apparent he has had some help from a Higher Authority along with excellent medical care.

They (Yoakum EMS) made a great decision, to fly him out, instead of going to local (small country) hospital and slowing the transfer to the required higher care hospital down a few hours. Time matters in brain trauma calls. Then, Brackenridge (Austin) had him in OR soon after landing is my understanding.
