Ok Alvarado folks, enough banter for this week.
Safe travels to and fro Erath county. Roads are slick. Get's sketchy this side of Glen Rose.
Here's to a great district Friday night high school football game! Oh, remember it's homecoming for Stephenville so expect a long halftime.
Cheers!

Just messing with you. Not a ass just had to say I told ya so. Be safe and things will get better. But believe me Alvarado will not be a contender in the playoffs. Just not that good of a team this year. Kinda like our basketball team will be next year. Nothing but love for true football fans god bless you guys and I hope you root for the Jackets to represent the 3 A going forward to a championship.

He is going to better than J Gray from Aledo. Best freshman back in the country in my opinion. He has everything you need then some. add that to good coaching and you got a future college and probably NFL PLAYER. Stidham is great KW is ahead of where he was at the same age no doubt. Jarrett is way better in basketball.

When Stidham was a fresh he didn't have the strength or the ability as KW. The kid is SPECIAL. He is stronger than Stidham now. They work out together all the time. Stidham is Great and will play on Sundays as well. That's scary to think about how good they are. AMAZING TALENT GREAT KIDS.

DISTRICT 7-3A FOOTBALL
Williams, Jackets rush past Alvarado
Homecoming win gives SHS control of 7-3A
By BRAD KEITH brad.keith@empiretribune.com Follow me on Twitter @etsports | Posted 2 hours ago
Freshman Kaegun Williams rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns as Stephenville cruised to a 41-7 homecoming victory over Alvarado at Tarleton Memorial Stadium Friday.
Williams began his assault on the Alvarado defense with a 51-yard run on the final play of the first quarter. He scored his first TD on a 63-yard sprint midway through the second, and tacked on a 4-yard TD to make it 34-0 with 4:27 left in the half. His final TD was a 5-yard burst in the third.
"I just really appreciate (the coaches) having confidence in me," said Williams, who has rushed for xxx yards this season. "That gives me confidence to run the ball even harder."
Stephenville head coach Joe Gillespie believes Williams gets better each week.
"I'm extremely proud of him, but I'm going to tell you, and I think Kaegun would be the first to tell you where it starts, and that's with our offensive line," said Gillespie. "Our offensive line just continues get so much better, and they're working well together. And Kaegun is a special individual. He has a lot of God-given talent and is fun to watch."
Jarrett Stidham passed for touchdowns of 10 yards to Will Brock to begin the scoring with 4:32 left in the first, and 19 yards to BJ Walker to make it 21-0 on the opening play of the second. Luis Luna barreled his way to a two-yard TD in between, a score set up by cornerback Brandon Stevens' 47-yard interception return.
Stidham rushed seven times for 61 yards, actually gaining 81 on five runs and losing 20 on two sacks. He was quiet through the air, going 6-10 for 79 yards.
Stephenville rushed for more than nine yards per carry and had 260 yards on the ground on its way to 339 total yards. The Jackets ran only 38 plays and there were just 85 total snaps.
"We're well balanced as far as run-pass right now, and we're putting up good numbers," said Gillespie, whose club averaged 8.9 yards per play and was coming off three straight 500-yard outings. "But we don't really consume ourselves with the score or putting up big numbers, we just want to dominate on the field."
Stevens' interception was one of two turnovers forced by the Stephenville defense, the other coming on a Mookie Carlile fumble recovery. The Jackets also took over on downs once near midfield thanks to a big fourth-down hit by linebacker Kobe Beavers.
Alvarado's Adrian Henrick averaged more than 200 yards per game coming in, but gained just 44 on 20 carries. The Indians' leading rusher was Austin Morriel with 69 yards on 14 attempts. The Indians were just 3-10 through the air and had only 159 total yards.
"We heard all week how good Alvarado's run game is, and that they were they ones who were going to chew up the clock," Gillespie said. "I think that kind of put a little chip on our shoulder, because we have a pretty good run game, too. We can line up and get physical, and we can also throw the ball."
The Yellow Jackets did suffer a blow with defensive end Jonah going down with a knee injury.
"It looks like a sprained MCL potentially," said Gillespie immediately following the game. "We certainly anticipate him being back soon. At least that's what they're telling me right now."
The victory gives Stephenville command of District 7-3A with only Venus and Hillsboro remaining on its schedule. The Jackets are also in control of the league's top Division I playoff seed.
Stephenville is visiting Venus next Friday, but the game will be played in Midlothian. Venus elected to move the game to accommodate Stephenville's crowd.

I say this respectfully because Stephenville has a good one but KW will never have as good of an O-Line that JG had to run behind...

That's old news and don't matter now. I guarantee Ville will have plenty good O line for him to run behind over the next 3 years. Aledo is a football machine that has kids moving in by the dozens and is located on 1-20 so parents can work in the metroplex. We are a rural community with home grown kids and a move in from time to time. So it's not even a comparison to consider. However Stephenville coaches step up and compete with teams such as Aledo where other 3 A teams wouldn't dream of. The coaching staff at Stephenville High school has to be the best overall in 3A without question.

Definitely a biased statement. There are other 3A teams that play 4A schools and maybe a tougher full season schedule than Stephenville does, lol. Your district is relatively weak by comparison, so 4 or 5 games per year are a breeze. Aledo may be one of your rival battles with a perennial good team, but that's only one game. Stephenville's district and region allows the Yellowjackets to cruise and pad the stats from district play til the regional finals. Whether that will change with the new realignment in 3A I don't know. But for now, you guys have the Life of Riley over there in Region I.....and you know it. Go sit in your rocking chairs and watch the action. There certainly won't be any in your neck of the woods for a while, lol.

I like your new Avatar toddg! And I agree with your post. Alvarado was outmatched last night. I honestly didn't get to watch as much of the game as I wanted, but watched the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. Alvarado is a class program and has class fans. Always fun to play the Indians.
Best of luck here on out. Will be interesting to see how Dist 8 finishes. Either Burnet or Brownwood first round.

Ville is on their way to the semis in d1. Don't see any region 1 team stopping them. The ville running game is going to make defending them even more difficult IMO. Couldn't tell how potent the passing attack was because they didn't have to throw much. Indians had 3 chances in second half to stop 3rd down conversions but couldn't do it. Not that it mattered much, I would have like to see at least another score for the Indians. Alvarado needs to spend the next two games airing it out. If we don't find some way to pass the ball at least some, we will be lucky to win one playoff game. Looks like we will get Burnet or Brownwood in round 1. Who would Alvarado match up better against?

Box Score: http://stephenvilleyellowjackets.com/index.php?topic=1572.0
Rushing: Kaegun Williams 10-164 w/ 3 TD, Jarrett Stidham 8-77, Will Brock 8-38, Anthony Chavarria 1-8, Adam Saenz 3-2, Luis Luna 1-2 w/ 1 TD
The passing team can run a little too. KW will be something special by over the next 3.5 years. Luna now has 8 rushes for 16 yards and 7 TD's. He is tough at the goal line.
