Each season I like to put up a tribute thread to the true unsung heroes of high school football--the linemen, especially the offensive linemen. The skill guys get their names called on every play, and even a defensive lineman gets a sack or a big tackle now and then, but the "hogs' on the "O' line try to do their jobs every offensive play and nobody ever knows their names except their families and maybe a few familiar fans. And when the QB gets sacked, or someone is tackled behind the line, there is always the steady chorus of "block somebody" from the stands, even if this is the first sack of the game. So here's to the big boys with their hands in the dirt who make all the glory happen and get very little public credit. I sure hope all the players who cross the goal lines, and we the fans respect and appreciate these guys and tell em' so at school and everywhere else.

As a coach (the oc at my jr high) I am extreme;y hard pn my lineman. Maybe even too hard at times. I expect them to go above and beyond because our offense goes as our line goes. We play good bc of the ol we play bad bc of the ol. However, I am the first to congratulate them after a score, and they are the first to get congradualted even before the player who scores the td.

Good stuff Bullaholic!

It's what allows most teams to be as successful as they are... especially the further a team goes into their playoff run.

Stephenville's

LT Noah Perez
LG Matt Diaz
C Tyler Ferguson
RG Raul Rocha
RT Max Jones

Doing a dang good job at creating lanes for the RB's and creating protection for the QB!

As a former RB myself, I always gave the OL a lot of credit.

Eric Dickerson who hailed from Sealy bought each offensive lineman on the Rams a gold Rolex at the start of his rookie year back in the day.

He could afford it with all that money he made at SMU
