Dalton Sturm, senior qb for the Goliad Tigers(now 2A-D1) has been selected as the 2013 BUILT FORD TOUGH Texas High School Football Player of the Week in Class 2A for last week. Sturm rushed for 239 yrds. and 4 TD's while passing for 224 yds., returned a punt 23 yds., kicked a field goal and 3 extra points to lead Goliad(4-1) in its 38-20 win over District 15 foe George West. Sturm leads the area in scoring, and is among the leaders in rushing and passing.
By my calculations, that's 31 pts. he directly scored...according to this article in the Victoria Advocate. At least, when I attended Goliad High back in the '70's, they taught me this would have added up to that total....unless something has changed since then, haha.
