You would be suprised if you watched Decatur play Bullahilic. They split QB reps with a kid who's about 5'7 and very shifty. Gives Decatur a good advantage when the big QB needs a break.

The kids name is Justin Myers. Also known as juice box. He weighs about 140lb if he's lucky. To say he's shifty is an understatement. He has a great football mind and if fun to watch. He give the offense a boost every time he comes in. This should be a great game

Indians must be more dynamic on offense or it could be a long night. Indians could have won the last two games if the offense played perfect ball with no turnovers and closing out drives. We've been spoiled the last few years and this young offense needs more than 5 different running plays. Defense is good but gas given up the big play too often to beat good teams,

The freshman lost their two best players, one is on varsity and the other is the QB for the JV. several of the top JV boys are playing with the varsity this year and making an impact so its brought both of them down a notch. JV has not lost a game so far though.

Decatur is better than you think..they have a very good QB and execute the verticle passing game very well..their Defense is good as well..hopefully we got some things hammered out this week and we show marked improvement from previous games and come out of this game with a solid win..the Eagles have been playing solid football this year.

That is the beauty of this offensive scheme and allows you to stay in games with very good teams. However when we can't sustain drives and get behind, it's hard to catch up. We need to keep the ball out of the eagles qb hands.

I only watched from start of 2nd qtr. I was impressed with Decatur's passing game. QB is tall and has a great arm. Can run when needed. I didn't understand that last drive when Decatur drove the field in 3-4 pass plays to get inside the 5, then tried to run it in 2 times in a row only to get stuffed. Decatur can pass pretty effectively. Short outs and slants across the middle were eating Alvarado's lunch. Alvarado's offense is pretty basic run and only attempted 1 pass play in second half. Crazy

Only reason they were in it is because they can't stop the pass. Is that not part of football js. We left too many points on the field. Good luck with the ville I'm sure they won't pass the ball

I probably have a better chance at winning the lottery than that happening. I thought Decatur played well, they couldn't stop our running game and we couldn't stop the passing game. The Decatur Qb has some serious potential with his arm, and he had a few moves to go with it. I was sure we had him in the backfield several times, then he scrambled and would make a throw for a first down. Good luck to the Eagles in district and the playoffs!

Both teams are solid. Alvarado's run game is good. If I were to compare, Waco La Vega's is stouter. More speed and weapons. Very similar in that neither teams can pass. Decatur's passing game is pretty good. A little inconsistent at times but I think it's the play calling IMO. When a team is passing the ball at will and then tries to run the ball on the same drive and gets stopped, doesn't make since. Keep the momentum going. I would have liked to see the QB run more. He was a force. Some play action would open up the field against teams. Defensively, Alvarado's run D is pretty solid. MLB #51 is a strong force against the run. Their pass D is, well, what pass D? Lol Decatur's run D made some good stops but gave a couple of big ones up and didn't have the speed to chase. Their pass D, well, wasn't needed. Lol

Overall, both teams are solid and will make the playoffs. Just be glad one of you doesn't have to meet Stephenville. But, one of you does. And you know what's coming... we'll save that for next Saturday's thread though. :D

I think Decatur was comparable to China Spring and Connally, FW Southwest was probably the best of the three talent wise. Our offense seemed to have more motivation and moved the ball in all four quarters, which we haven.t been doing. Our passing game is still a work in progress as is the secondary. Overall, the Indians played much better last night than the last three weeks.

The eagles run defense was weaker than the last three games we played but offensively as good or better than any we have faced. Good passing game gives you a chance to be in every game. Eagles need to get better on defense and if so could make a nice district run. Would love to see you guys beat Gainsville

When you throw for 340 YDS 3TDs, rush for 70yds 1 TD against a run oriented team, who controls the ball like Alvarado does, that's pretty good. Even for a yellowjacket. And he's a TCU commit. I'd say he's up there with any QB Alvarado will face.

Grayson M is good but nowhere near Stidham! Stidham is taking control of the villes offense the only game they lost was against aledo and hell nobody in 4a can beat aledo but regardless alvarado needs to work on that secondary but I did like that throw when grayson was getting pressured he just threw it up!

5wide, I'm glad I stopped in and caught this game for several reasons. One, I wanted to see what Sville would be up against when thy play Alvarado in two weeks, secondly I wanted to see how Decatur has improved and thirdly I was interested to see the Decatur QB. He stood tall in the pocket and ran from pressure pretty darn well. Has a strong arm with good velocity. Kid has a lot of up side. Impressive.

Stidham is a junior who is gaining experience each week. He's a very talented kid. You'll just have to see for yourself to be able to compare. There is a difference. For starters, I'd say he's more accurate, has more speed, good zone read abilty, and has a stronger arm. That's my assessment after seeing both.

I think if Decatur had a better running game, the QB would have even better stats. It would open up the passing game. I also think he needs to run more. He has good elusiveness escaping pressure. Solid QB, no question.
