Columbia is not a bad team. Defense is weak on the edges but they have some horses. That #9 came and caught #5 Leeshod Oneal from Wharton last week on a bad angle. Columbia by 21.

OLUMBIA (2-1) AT HOUSTON KASHMERE (1-1)

LAST MEETING: 33-6 Columbia

OVERVIEW: The Roughnecks are coming off their first loss of the season, but head into Delmar Stadium with a 5-0 record all-time against the Rams. That includes a bidistrict 33-6 win last season. So far the Columbia offense has produced nicely with sophomore tailback Dakarius Bell (92-592 rushing yards, 6.43 per carry average, eight TDs) and junior quarterback Jarius Kesee (43-24, 341 passing yards, two interceptions, three TDs), who is picking up steam in his first full season at the position. Brandon Harris leads the pass-catchers with seven for 117 yards and a score. The Columbia defense is giving up 387 yards and 32 points a game.

The Rams are coming off a 25-6 loss to Houston Wheatley on Sept. 7. Kahsmere’s offense has gained 510 yards in two ball games, 290 on the ground and 220 by the air. Quarterback A’Darrion Christie has thrown for 75 yards on four completions, 15 attempts and no touchdowns. Danyel Glaspis leads the run game with 12 carries for 57 yards, andmj also leads the receivers with three catches for 64 yards.

WEST COLUMBIA CHARTER (1-1) AT BRYAN HARMONY (3-0)

LAST YEAR: 57-50 West Columbia Charter

OVERVIEW: This contest was moved to Brenham on Wednesday with an unidentified place where it would be played. The Warriors are coming off a 54-8 loss to Pasadena First Baptist last week. Charter is still relying on Tyler Carroll and Josh Perez leading at the quarterback position. Perez is coming off a 116-yard passing performance where he threw a touchdown and an interception. Nevin Parsons was one of his targets, getting seven grabs for 29 yards in the loss. These two had a high-scoring affair last season.

Harmony is coming off a 53-51 win against Bryan Aggie Land Home School last weekend. They beat the Tomball Christian Home School junior varsity 72-69 the week before, and opened the season

Pass the word to your coaches, of all the HISD playing surfaces, this one has the least padding and is the hardest. And whatever your fans do, don't miss the 34th st exit. There's construction and a long way to go to make a U-turn.

Right now the game is in a weather delay. Just announced that players will be allowed back into the field to warm up in thirty minutes. But damn, that clock starts over after every lightning strike correct?
