I don't think Ingleside should have moved up 5 spots this week. Odem was a pretty weak test for the Mustangs. Glad to see another D30 team (Sinton) make the top 25.

I'm thinking Shallowater might prove to be better than the 20 spot. On a side note, did anybody ever hear whether Gainesville won their game against that Oklahoma team this week???

I have no argument with this poll. Especially having no 17AAA teams in it. Ain't none if them good enough yet.

Wharton should definately be in the top 25. We beat Cuero 23-22. Rolled over a houston team 71-0. And beat a solid West Columbia team with a comfortable lead.

Third response in a row to one of your posts WhartonTigers, welcome to the board! I dont think you can put them in the top 25 yet. Barely beating an unranked (top 25) team wont get you there, neither will beating a terrible Houston team, or an average at best West Columbia team. Knock off El Campo or god forbid Bellville, and you will get in. Other than that, I just dont see it happening. And it really doesn't matter as long as you make the playoffs. Rankings can be a curse to some teams...

Seriously? Half the teams on this ranking haven't played anyone. Wharton's had a tougher schedule with Cuero and Columbia than a good majority of these teams.

Average at best Columbia team??? WC has a top 10 winning percentage in 3A over the last 3 years. They're young this year, but they're far from average. Bellville may be a little better right now, but not much. Just wait til next year....

And yes, Wharton deserves top 25. They'd stomp at least half a dozen teams on this list.

I believe Wharton a should be in the top 25 , we lost a very good game to them ! Hats off , and I agree they are prolly beat at least a dozen teams in this pole. Man wouldn't be a game if Cuero and Wharton met in the Quarters ! Always a nail biter !

Well these rankings are based alot on what they did last year. Cuero is a good team, i think. WC is not on anyones radar i can promise you that. I don't think they were that strong last year correct? Like I said, beat El Campo or Bellville and they are in the top 25 and deserve to be there. Wait till next year?!?! Football season just started so I will worry about next year, well, next year.

If your team isn't currently ranked just continue to TCB and the rest will take care of itself. Sometimes it is better to be unknown.

WHarton is in El Campo's District. Held the Birds to 17 points last year.

WC had an off year by their standards losing a close one to WOS in the 2nd round last year, but yes... WCs RB is a Soph, the qb is jr and they've got a Ricky seals jones lookalike at WR that's a JR. The defense hasn't been good but with 9 new starters, I wouldn't expect great things right away. I think they've got 10 sophs on varsity. Like you said, they're not on anyone's radar this year but they'll go a round or two in the playoffs anyways. Wait til next year...

La Grange is moving up, this years team has 18 returning players from a year ago and I mean returning starters from a year ago. If the defense continues to get better each week , then this team has a shot at making a long run. It will be at least another 3 weeks before this team is really pushed to win a game, Gonzales will be our first real test.

Eh, they're as good as Bellville this year. You guys won some region 4 games last year and now you're world beaters huh?

You remember what happened last time Bellville played WC??

Pretty sure I just agreed with you that they will be a team to keep an eye on, NEXT YEAR. Ya, we won a few. Never said anything about Bellville being world beaters. Just knocking on West Columbia. WC cant be put in the same conversation as Bellville yet. They didnt do anything impressive last year, and haven't yet this year.
