Biggest test so far for the Indians. Indians should be able to run the ball well but need to get the passing game going. Southwest will light it up thru the air. Fuller and the dline will need to get good pressure on the QB and the secondary will be tested. Time for the Indians to start making improvements.

SouthWest 28

the Raiders definitely have a formidable offense led by soph. QB Devin Williams...the Indians, offensively, have to sustain drives to limit their posessions and keep our D fresh...should be a good game!

A little concerned about Alvarado struggling with Mexia last week...unless Southwest makes major adjustments I see Alvarado running the ball at will...but Southwest can light it up through the air...and the RB they have is very good as well

I think our D-line and Lb's can handle the running game and they will pressure the Qb all night, but our secondary will have to step up and not let the receivers get seperation. Our offense can't have turnovers like the last two games, we'll need to complete a few passes to open up the running game.

it was a wierd game Matt..the Indians used practically the whole 3rd qtr. to score a TD..the refs allowed a fair catch on a pooch/onside kick attempt..and while the Indian D was tackling a black cat..Fuller was sprinting 25 yards for a TD with the ball..wierd stuff like that all game long..to go along with the mistakes we had on offense

Mexia will surprise people. The Blackcats are not great, but they are fast and much more disciplined than they were last year in the coach's first year. With a little time that freshman qb they have will be very good.

Alvarado's problem is throwing and catching the ball. Mexia had 10 guys in the box all night and Alvarado couldn't do anything with its passing game to alleviate that. If the qb and receivers can get on the same page it will obviously loosen up opposing defenses and the Indians will be successful. Without the passing game, teams will load up to stop the run and there will be a lot of 14-10, 17-13 type of games for the Indians. With that being said I think Alvarado gets it going this week with some early passes and the running game will open back up.

One thing I think Southwest is better at is they execute better offensively and are faster across the board..last year it was Rhodes and Harris and that was it...that RB is up to about 200 pounds and is extremely quick...the QB is deadly accurate throwing the ball and he's got 4-5 guys all about 6'1-6'2 and they all can fly....better all around crew than last year..Williams is def. a better passer and a pure QB

This Indian D is tough, they aren't giving the SW qb much time at all! We just need to move the ball like we did the last four minutes.

You were deadly accurate on your assessment! FW Southwest executed on offense, nothing spectacular, but made the plays when they needed to. They had a couple of big pass plays and a long 45-50 yard run, other than that our defense played them well considering they were on the field all night long. The Indians offense just can't seem to get unhitched, lots of 3 & outs, fumbles, and dropped passes. I give credit to SW, they played well and have several athletes who can make plays when needed!

Everman beat FW Southwest last week 51-39. FW Nolan Catholic lost to 4A Arlington Seguin by 1 on the last play going for 2 on the extra point, who is undefeated and beat a 5A tonite. FW Nolan Catholic killed Everman tonite by tons. Argyle killed Nolan Catholic, and they scored in the 4th on our backups only. That makes Nolan Catholic look like a much better win than most thought. You can do the rest of the math. Alvarado needs to improve if they want to be contending this season...just saying.

Correction>>> Arlington Seguin(4A) lost to Mesquite Poteet last week, but did defeat Arlington Houston(5A) tonite. Everman(4A) was 2-0 before getting rocked by Nolan Catholic tonite.

Hey, you guys are scheduling great competition and that's important. There's plenty of time in the season, and I'm sure the Indians will continue to improve each week. I'm just reporting some significant scores that your Indians can use for comparison so you know about those teams. Those are teams that are very good in their respective classifications. Some had the hardware to prove it.
