Hi Folks,
Wanted to pass along some information -- we are down to only 2 months worth of donations remaining to keep the server online past November... Football season is the time we typically see the most donations, but haven't seen too much this year.

We believe there will be some exciting changes and features coming to the 3ADL over the next several months, and for that, we are also asking for a big donation drive for the future of the site. We appreciate donations and the board is currently 100% funded by you, the users.

If you are able to and would like to donate, please do the following, as per the new ownership of the site.
Make the check to: Chuck Licata, LLC
Send the check to: 6280 McNeil Drive, Suite 1007
Austin, TX 78729

Thanks very much for your support!

Thank you for your continued interest in 3ADL and making it one of the best HS sports sites in Texas.

I understand how that goes. Server costs, new updates to forum software, pay a webmaster to keep the machine well oiled, domain fees, etc. On average I pay more than $100 per month (averaged out) to keep my website up and running each year.

Is there a similar donation page being setup to buy out Mack Brown's contract?

Dear Administrator,

What is the cost to keep the Downlow running for a year? Perhaps there might be some funding available if we knew what the target is.

If people are just going to get on here and bash kids then I would just soon it shut down.

LewPatt,
that's a great question. I'll see if I can find out for you within the next few days.

Donations are always needed. They're what pays for the monthly hosting & any upgrades that may be needed. Thanks to ALL who donate! One of the plans that Chuck has for the future is to use a portion of donations, after hosting fees, etc. are covered, is to have a 3ADL scholarship (or two) for graduating seniors. Thanks again to all! :)

That's so true - thank you Deb. Yes, please keep the donations coming - I'd like to see a "push" for the next 2 weeks, as Matt said Football Season is the best time for donations to help keep this site funded. Even if you can only donate $10; ALL donations are appreciated, as LHPM stated.
As the new owner of 3ADL, I just spent some $$ to buy the site...but I will, in turn, guarantee we will give away at least 2 scholarships to graduating seniors this coming spring in the name of 3ADownLow. Thank you for your support - hope to see you Thursday, sometime after 8pm Central time, in the Chat Room. :)

Will send in a donation this weekend if that's ok.

I like the idea of this site providing some sort of scholarship and I enjoy getting on here to blow off some steam now and then. Just donated. Keep up the good work.

I know how that is....I pay for everything related to running my website. Total membership has no bearing on what it costs to keep a website up and running. I pay around $70 per month just for a webmaster to keep hackers at bay. And as you well know there are many other annual fees related to having a website.
