Gilmer has looked pretty good so far. Penalties are KILLING us. There have been a few personal fouls called on Gilmer that have put us in bad spots. They haven't all hurt, but the certainly didn't help.

Gilmer's secondary has been AMAZING. They have been smothering the Prestonwood receivers all night. Gilmer allowed 1 receiver to get open on a QB scramble where the defender left his receiver and the QB found him. Run defense has been really good, but the QB scramble has really done a number on us. Great blocking and good vision by the QB has kept several drives alive.

Overall, Gilmer has played very well and is holding on to what surprising still feels like a slim lead. Lots of football to be played, anything can happen. I just hope Gilmer comes out pushing the throttle and not trying to hurry to get the game over with. Keep doing what has got us to this point.

GO BUCKEYES!

Big but very ugly win for Gilmer.

4 turnovers, 2 in side the 10-yard line and giving up an onside kick and probably about 100 yards in penalties.

Prestonwood made it close in the 3rd bringing it within 12, 44-32, but Gilmer pulled away after that.

The QB did most of the damage for Prestonwood with his scrambling ability. He is mobile and a pretty good passer on the run. We didn't do much to slow him down.

I know Gilmer gave up a lot of points, but the defense played very well. With 2 offenses playing at the pace these 2 teams play it is to be expected. DBs played the pass very well and tackled very well when the ball was caught. There wasn't much YAC for Prestonwood.

Overall, it was a good win, but there is MUCH room for improvement. As long as we can stay healthy and continue to get better, Gilmer should be around again late in the season.
