Graham has the exact enrollment of Argyle and looks to have a high-powered offense with Davis at the helm. I'm not sure what the Steers defense has returning, but any team that plays Graham will need to put up the points against them in order to win. It will take a great defensive team, imo, to keep this Graham offense in check. I look for Brownwood to try to use the clock to slow things down against the Steers, but that requires ball control by Brownwood's offense. Graham will have quick-strike, big-play capabilities on offense....so that usually will negate a ball control offense(see Argyle vs. Monahans 2011). Whoever plays Graham this season will just have to show up and get ready to score some points, lol. You'll have to outscore this team, or play a heckuva defensive game(probably both) to beat this year's Graham Steers, imo. I'm not saying Graham won't make mistakes, or doesn't need to play great football to win....I'm just saying a good offense and very good qb at the helm makes things that much more difficult for the opposition. Graham appears to have that kind of offense. More games will tell the story.

Rattler

No, Brownwood is to have 7 out is the word. Graham will have 1 second string out for 3 or more weeks and a starter is a game day decision, from what I'm hearing.

If BWood was running full tilt, I would have to go with the Steers, not because of just being a homer but they really do have it clicking!! Lots of threats all over on both sides of the ball!!!

I was very impressed with Graham at 7 on 7 at the State Tourney. Chatted with Mr. Davis a bit and a liked what I saw from Graham. Gilmer and Graham was a good game of touch football. Just not sure it would go the same in pads. That Josh Walker is literally a man child! Best of luck to Graham though, I think they have a very solid team this season. Brownwood will be much improved by district.

Funny how those REALLY GOOD private school teams are now Junior College teams. A few years ago when Celina was playing a pre-season schedule of immediately former and future TAPPS champs we were playing a soft schedule. :)

I agree that 7 on 7 is not a good benchmark for a great team, but it does have its place in an evaluation ! I'm sure BW will be in the mix, their coaching staff will see to that. Lots of folks tend to over look the coaching staff and just base everything on players and that's a huge mistake!! You have to have talent but you have to have a command structure to fine tune that talent to perfection, and our coaches are in it to win it !!!!

Let us not forget the reason we began playing All Saints in 2010..... We had 9 games being in a district with an odd number of teams. Celina was in the same situation. Celina refused to play us.

We spanked All Saints in 2010 and even then they were ranked #1 in their private school league. The next season they were a completely different team. They were not used to losing like they did in 2010, and I firmly believe that they decided that wouldn't happen again. The guys they brought to play in 2011 were not the same guys they brought to play in 2010.

If you were very impressed with Graham at 7 on 7 state tourney, you surely would have to say the same for Burnet...Burnet traded punches with Graham and eventually lost in OT.....I figured the winner of that game was going to win it all....and Graham did.....

And it was a double overtime at that...felt the same way, winner of that game would be champion. As the Burnet 7on7 coach we played them a lot tougher then we did in 2012 when they wore us out in the semis of championship bracket. We came back in 2013 as a much deeper team. I do believe that Graham will do as well or better this year against Brownwood.

Returning all district Qb. He is pretty good and is a Sr. We've got some pretty good receivers also. Starting RB is out due to injury in the final scrimmage. I dont think he will be back for tonight. We started a scrapy sophmore last week at RB. I was really pretty impressed with him.

Brownwood's QB Keesee is very solid. He actually reminds me a lot of Graham's QB Davis. Same build, same type of throwing mechanics. Just doesn't have the experienced receivers and OL to help.

Let's hope all stay healthy tonight. I know there is going to be some hard hitting in this game.

I think offesively, you guys are really good. Really good run D also. We had a freshman receiver get 11 catches for about 140 yards so I dont know about the pass D. Overall, Graham is very solid. Will be good to see Brownwood this week when we finally get some starters back.
