I wanted to know what people have heard about this team. I heard they had a real good scrimage against Liberty. They did not allow liberty to score at all and then they beat a 2A school San Agustine that is ranked in the top 15. What else has anyone heard about thei team and what are there chances in Dist. 20 3A.

I don't know about that, but Diboll beat 4A Conroe OakRidge 13-12 in a scrimmage last week. maybe this year's 20-3A battle for third might not be that bad. Also I heard Jasper doesn't have much of a team this year. Not just by the PN-G score but the word around Jasper is they are no good.

Jack is building a quality program in Kirbyville. He has a lot of kids back from last years team and he has them sold on his program. I look for good things out of Kirbyville this year. I would suspect they will end up the second or third place team this year. I don't know if they have enough to take out a healthy Newton team though.

69, granted I have not seen Jasper play this year, but that is a bold statement you have made about Jasper. One game does not make a season. Just remember, Diboll has to come to the dog house this year.

Here we go with the trash talking Lumberjacks again. Jasper may be down a bit this year in comparison to the last two years, but Diboll is no Jasper and it will show again this year. Go Dogs!!!

What do you think is gonna happen with the Jasper/Silsbee game?

What you heard about Kirbyville is correct. They had a good scrimmage against Liberty scoring twice in the controlled scrimmage and once in the game situation. Liberty had a very tough time moving the ball. They also beat a very good San Augustine team two weeks ago. I saw them on Friday against Timpson and they looked very average winning 18-7. The offense threw for over 200 yards but seemed to have a little trouble running the ball. The Defense was decent but did not seem as tough as I had heard. Looks like they need to step it up on both sides of the ball if they want to have a chance in 20AAA. Newton, Jasper, Diboll and Woodville all seem to have pretty good teams this year. Hopefully they will look better against Buna this week.

I'm not saying Diboll is going to win, I'm just saying that some of the player's MOTHER'S have said that Jasper won't be as good this year. So don't get your feelings hurt because your people are talking crap about they're own team!!

how did this topic turn into the Diboll/Jasper jawwing session? Kirbyville is doing better this year and I look for them to go to the playoffs if they keep improving each week. I just want to see kirbyville vs. bridge city. Good luck Cats.

So don't get your feelings hurt because your people are talking crap about they're own team!!It's probably accurate to say Jasper isn't as strong as they have been in the last couple of years. The experience of the players certainly isn't what it was. But, even if they do fall short of the teams of the last couple of years, that could still put them a long way into the playoffs. The season is young. Hurt feelings? Please!

Hey big69. you mean to say you get your information about how good Jasper is by some of the players mothers?. Like someone said earlier, I'm sure your tune will change when Diboll comes to the Dog house. Of course, then you will probably have some comments about some of the other teams in the district that Diboll will have to play..

I'm not talking smack about Jasper,I'm just telling you the facts. And i'm sure jasper will beat diboll, but jasper has to live up to alot this year since they did good last year. I'm not trying to put anybody down so quit whining about Diboll talking smack. And to those from Kirbyville, it's been a long time coming but ya'll are starting to get a team! Good Luck!

It doesn't matter what someone's mother allegedly said. Anybody who knows anything about sports at all would tell you that when you lose 30+ players from one year to the next that your team won't be as strong. To assume that Jasper is "no good" would mean that they have significantly less talent than other teams in the area. Any true fan of Southeast Texas football knows better than that. The Bulldogs will be there in the end and I expect that we'll be a much better team than we've shown so far. Go Dogs!!! :D

My mother is putting her money on Kirbyville to beat Buna. She's giving 3 to 1 odds. She says it's gonna be a cat fight.

My mother used to work in a casino, but then again when she watches football, she roots for the teams that have the "prettiest helmets", as she put it. Her favorite team is the Broncos because they have horses on their helmets and her favorite player was Elway because he looks like a horse... :D

Oh yeah, well my daddy can beat up your daddy! My mama said that Huntington is going to win district and that newton stinks this year. She said that Bridge City was going to win state. I thanked her for the info., kissed her on the forehead and left the nursing home.

the big question is who will be watching the parking lots after the games. hopefully the admin's memory of last year's after-game foolishness will be a spark for preventing poop from dropping. eek!

Good news!!!! My mom called and she had a dream that the state championship game ended up Bridge City 13 Shepherd 10 in triple overtime. The sophmore sensations from B.C. stepped up and played well enough that even the Old Card was supporting the varsity again. soon after she asked if Jimmy Carter was going to run for re-election. she sure thinks he's cute!

comp, there were some aggrevated assaults in the nearby k-v city park after the 2002 game. some from buna had trekked to kv and found equal intelligences eek! with differing points  of view.
thankfully, there were no athletes invovled. :)

I was unaware of that. I guess that tempers get the best of people sometime when the towns are so close together. I hate that the incident happened. Hopefully nothing like that will happen this year.
