That game had a little of everything in it great plays, terrible plays, dumb penalties, tons of turnovers and some big hits.

Overall there are some good things to take away and some bad things that need to be fixed both teams offense could be dangerous as the season goes on.

good review OM...at times ugly...at times awesome...Melissa was in control until turnovers..some forced..some unforced...For Celina I think a true deep threat and both the OL and DL is an issue...RB #5 for Celina was friggin awesome,,Elliot until the last drive still made the same mistakes over and over, but the kid did it when it counted..both teams have the chance to be solid

The good thing for Celina is they are very young. The oline is only starting one senior and none of them were on the varsity last year so they should keep getting better. On the dline there is only one player with varsity experience and he didnt start last year. As for qb play he just needs to be more consistent. I believe Celinas offense will get better as the year goes.

Congrats to our District 10 Celina Bobcats on a very big win to start their season. There's plenty of football ahead, and with a quality rb and qb a team can win alot of games. The younger players will only get better, and the mistakes will get corrected. The skies are not that cloudy over Celina.

A friend who did attend the game said the running game was our best weapon, but that we had to many turnovers and penalties. I was told the defense looked good at times, but much work is still needed as expected with any team this time of year. Melissa again showed they are an outstanding team and I am sure their fans would tell you that mistakes and turnovers are what cost them a chance for victory this year. Good Luck to both programs and hopefully we can meet again in the playoffs.

Both teams, especially the defenses (Front 7 mostly) were gassed at the end. Not sure where everyone was sitting, but down in the bowl, it was STEAMING HOT. Melissa took better advantage of the tired defenses, in my opinion, keeping the ball on the ground, even when they trailed. The curse of the 'no huddle, go offense' is quick turnaround for the Defense. Celina will be working on developing more depth on the D-Line, I am certain.

That my friends was early season football, at its best and worst! Both teams gave all they had for 48 minutes and someone had to win. Glad it was US!

Looking at the DMN stats Melissa seemed to have a big advantage in the passing attack with over 300 yards and they had 162 yards rushing on 44 attempts. They had two interceptions with one returned for a TD. Celina young secondary will have to grow up fast it looks like. The paper said that Melissa was able to get to the Bobcat 14 yard line but ran out of time. Hopefully we can improve in the areas we need to and the young guys will continue to gain confidence as the season progresses. Celina had 262 yards rushing on 26 carries and 191 yards passing with 0 interceptions. They did lose 3 fumbles.

Not trying to make excuses for Celina's defense, but Melissa was running plays so fast it wore down the dline by the 4th quarter that's when Melissa started having success. Before that the defense did a pretty good job. Still lots of work to do, but I left the game happy and very optimistic and I think this team keeps getting better and they could be dangerous.

Honestly I think this type of game at the very first of the season is great for them. Gotta huge scare, but puled together and got the job done. It was obvious by the way the boys were celebrating after the game they needed this win for sure.

Although there were a lot of badly-timed turnovers and penalties from both teams, from a fan's perspective, this was a very entertaining game. Great way to start the season!!!

This game was almost exactly like last year when Celina was up until the last minute or so and could not defend the lead.

This year, if #14 would have been available on that last play Celina could not have doubled #13 in the endzone and knock down the game winner. My MVP is split between #5 who should have received 20+ carries and #10 who had several big hits and ultimately put #14 out of the game.

Excellent game between two good but not great teams.

It was an entertaining game to listen too. Generally good teams have the most noticeable improvement from game 1 to game 2. Last year Sville loses to team they had no business losing to and well we all know the rest of the story.
