Funny how the DCTF, Old Coach and AP polls has a team in their top 12 yet Padilla completely leaves that team out of the top 20.

Where is Jacketswarm, the "Fire Away" guy from Stephenville?

Isn't this what was expected from Bellville and El Campo ??

That is going to be SOME game.

Looks like Padilla has a very high opinion of Gainesville. Could be a "sleeper" team in D1 out of District 9. There's Decatur, Krum, Bridgeport, and Sanger. Yep, Gainesville is definitely a D1 to make the playoffs in Region 2, imo. How far they can go....we'll see what their season does. Sanger COULD sneak up on that district this season...it is possible. I think their enrollment and Decatur's are the 2 largest. If so, that would throw Gainesvile into a D2 spot as long as Decatur makes it too. This district is one to watch...it appears to be anybody's ballgame moreso than most other districts this season. I know these teams(except for Krum) because Argyle has played them all extensively in the past and used to be in District 9. But there's no way I'm gonna even try to predict the outcome of this district this season. Good luck to every single team in 9-3A(but watch out for Sanger).

I think Gainsville will be good but they are ranked way to high.

Chapel Hill at #12 is too high, and Graham at #18 is too low. IMO they should be switched...

Hmm, Port Isabel not up there. I'm cool with that.

I agree. We played them in the 3rd round last year.... Their QB and WR were the only reason they were somewhat competitive in that game. They both played both ways and they both graduated.

I'll have to agree with you on both accounts. I'm not sure where to rank CH, but I'd definitely put Graham around the 10 spot, maybe even lower.

Only problem I really have is that he has Gainesville at # 10 but Silsbee doesnt crack the top 20. Silsbee belongs in the top 20, closer to the top 10. I have a hard time believing Gainesville is anywhere near as good as what Silsbee is going to be.

Unfortunately they are probably close to being right on that one. Its not a bad thing at all though. The valley is just not as competitive as other regions :(

For whatever it's worth, Jasper beat Coldspring 5-0 in their first scrimmage. A friend from Coldspring tells me that the Trojans are not looking good early on... But, that can change.

Has there ever been a pre-season 3A poll that didn't have WOS in the top 25?
