Ah ha.. I knew you guys had a little playoff rivalry starting to brew. I know chances are pretty good that Gilmer will be D2. But not as good for Argyle. Possible but that district to me is iffy. The review has Argyle going D1 which would more than likely put them meeting Kilgore, TCH, out of Reg 2. And if they were to get past the Reg finals, they will more than likely have to face Stephenville in the semi's. So if the District of Doom doesn't knock them off, it'll be Dooms Day for the Eagles in the semi's.

:iagree:

Nope, nope, nope. Carrollton Ranchview will surprise this season with Rocket Ismael's son Raghbid at the helm....very athletic....and a host of other seasoned players with a big line on both sides of the ball. Frisco Lone Star is the other large team(1300 enrollment now, some say) that should make the playoffs. That leaves Aubrey as odd man out in this 5-team district....unless Aubrey can somehow defeat Lone Star or Ranchview or both!!! I just don't see it happening this season. That puts Argyle and Celina in D2. The reviews you read are not from sources I would call fully informed about this district. Matt will tell you the same....Ranchview and Lone Star will most likely be the D1's. There's less chance of Argyle going D1 this season than going D2, IMO. But we have to play the games first.

Good stuff regaleagle... just have to wait and see, huh? ;)

Good luck against the mighty Bulldogs from west Texas. Another gawd aweful purple/yellow team! :ack!:

Yeah, that opening game in Abilene is gonna be slobberknocker, for sure. I fully expect Sandifer's boys to be very very physical with Argyle. I don't know what he'll do to try to counteract our attack, but I suspect a little ball control will be one of the weapons he will incorporate. The other will be the big play. Maybe some trick plays, or an onside kick at an unsuspecting time....like to open the 2nd half. Just depends on how the ball bounces. Regardless, it should be a game worth the trip to see. I just can't see driving from Fredericksburg, though. That's a loooong way, and Fred gets Burnet here that night. So I'll go watch the Billies try to hold off Burnet and listen to the play by play, I reckon. Win or lose....both teams should still be playoff bound when the regular season ends. And that starts a whole new season.
