I know Bridgeport is not all that great, but my gosh how good is Argyle crap. Argyle might not get challenged until the 3rd round of the playoffs.

I looked up last year's scrimmage results for comparison and this is what I found...

No doubt Argyle will be tough this year with all their returning starters. I guess we will find out how tough in 2 weeks at Bulldog Stadium. Looking forward to it!!! Hoping Wylie can start things off with a bang like last year!!

Wrong, OM. We open the season in Week 0 against a very formidable Abilene Wylie team, then take on 3-time TAPPS state champion Nolan Catholic(3 yrs in a row) at home. They are ranked first in state again. We had trouble beating that team last year. The next week we travel to Kennedale to play a very good team at their house, then get Paris coming in to test us. After that we play what is supposed to be a very good Dallas Madison team at their place, then Wilmer Hutchins at ours, or vice-versa. Frisco Lone Star ain't gonna be no cake walk this season, and by Week 10 Celina might be a tough out for us.

No surprises from Argyle---they are as advertised--salty all the way around. Young and slower Bulls had a tough time against the Eagles on both sides of the ball. Hope we all get to see another Argyle-Gilmer game in the playoffs---it will be a dandy this season, if it comes to pass.

A lot could happen during district play but looks like Argyle will be D1 and Gilmer D2. In Gilmer's district 3 larger enrollment schools will likely battle for playoff spots... Henderson, Kilgore and Tyler CH. If 2 of the 3 make it, Gilmer is destined to D2. Both Ranchview and Lonestar will have to make playoffs for Argyle to go D2. Is that likely?

It's very likely....Ranchview is going to be a lot better this year..they have a DE committed to Oklahoma, they have Rocket Ismail's son at QB, return 7 starters on both sides of the ball..and they beat Aubrey by 19 points last year..in fact i'd be surprised if Ranchview didnt make the playoffs

So there's a chance both Ranchview and Lonestar make it... cool! If so, Celina or Aubrey would have to miss out. Anything could happen. Argyle is pretty much a given. From the sounds of Celina's civil war (banter amungst the not so popular posters), they could be in trouble! :eek:

thats the way it would have gone down last year. Lonestar is going to sneak up on some people this year. the enrollment is up about 300 kids over last year

Lone Star's only issue is they gotta replace a pretty good QB...but they have a lot back....
