Carthage #9?
La Marque/Bellville/ and La Grange should and probably will end the season higher.

MaxPreps has no clue.

Their rankings are abysmal.

I'm pretty sure that Bullard graduated the house, the barn, the outhouse and the lawnmower shed last year. IIRC, we played them at their place last year and it happened to be their senior night. Took them most of the 30 minute half-time to introduce their football seniors.

It's MaxPreps, for heaven's sake....they don't know anything other than stats from previous years. They have an idea of which teams to look out for, but no skinny on the teams that will be in the mix come playoff time. It's like throwing darts for them.....they'll hit their point a few times, and miss the board completely with other tosses.

Come on guys..Maxpreps is very similar to The Massey Ratings which uses game by game analysis so the deeper into the season the better the ratings will be...

They were pretty spot-on at the end of last season....

At the beginning of the season? Do you have it from last year? That would be telling.

I wouldn't rank Gilmer higher than Navasota
