Mercedes (4A) starting QB Isaiah Garza was involved in an accident this afternoon. He's in the hospital now and listed in "serious" condition, according to 956Sports sources.

In all seriousness, prayers go out to Isaiah and the Mercedes Tigers family. The outlook isn't good :(

Poor kid.

Just read an update. He broke the 4th, 5th, and 6th vertebrae in his neck. There is a very small chance (10%) that he will regain feeling below the neck. :(

Update on Isaiah......His family reports that he is awake, alert, and able to move his arms. :) He had surgery last night to fuse the 4th, 5th, and 6th vertebrae back together. Isaiah is currently in ICU at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen
