Roy Orbison was a great singer, song composure and musician. I have posted a couple of his great songs in the I'm Scared thread. This was one of his biggest hits. I am showing my age but in all fairness you need to know I am a big fan of Roy Orbison and when I was a kid I purchased his songs when they became available on 45 RPM records. Enjoy!

Here is another hit song he had called In Dreams. Roy had so many great hits and was such a great singer it is impossible to pick out a best one but this one is especially meaningful to me. I brought this on a 45 RPM record when I was in junior high. One day our math teacher said she had a bad dream about us students. The next night some friends and I were walking home and passed her house and as we went by we sang the final lyrics of this song. She never told us if she saw or heard us but some of us got mysterious stern looks. LOL

This song was written by Roy in 1960 before he hit the big time. Wanting to establish himself as a songwriter he asked Elvis to sing it but Elvis couldn't do it because of a movie commitment. He then asked some other good friends The Evelyn Brothers to do it but they told him he should sing it himself. He did so and this established him as a big star with many years of entertainment to come. In all his life he never got into trouble with the law or involved in any scandals. His songs never glorified alcohol, drugs, or illegal activities and he lived a Christian life. In interviews he publicly opposed drugs. He was a great singer and was as good a person as he was a singer. This following song started it all. We are fortunate indeed.

Roy sang this religious song with the great Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis. Roy's songs were great and could be enjoyed by the whole family.

Here is Roy's BBC broadcast done in 1975. He sings some of his greatest hits and the broadcast is in beautiful color. We are fortunate to be able to enjoy it.

The fifth one was Jeff Lynn. The first album was terrific and well received. The second one wasn't as well received. It was made after Roy passed away.

Completely forgot about ELO frontman, Jeff Lynne!...How dare me!.......You're right, 1st album was great. Catchy tunes all. 2nd was so-so but I still liked it....missed Roy's voice for sure....

One of my current favorite musicians is Austin's Graham Wilkinson...and I don't usually like alot of today's music. But this guy is different. Even my 13 year loves his stuff. "Yearbook" is my favorite CD from Graham. We'll be hearing more from him....Nice guy too!
He told me those are his family members in the video "Focus" including his kids and grandma! Cool!

This is one that I somehow missed in 1971. Roy does a fantastic version of this great song. Enjoy.
