I noticed the overuse injuries with the advent of "select" year round baseball, I think the same thing applies to AAU basketball.
It seems Dr. James Andrews concurs.

AAU basketball is garbage and that's all I have to add to this topic.

But sadly the college recruiters have " ordained " that tht is the time of evaluations.

You hardly ever see college assistants or head coaches attend high school UIL events.

Some of it is budget limitations....

Go to several baseball or basketball games or....go to a showcase tourney and see them all in a weekend, one site.

As far as football recruiting, isn't it all done via college camp try outs or combines in the summers???

It creates a dominoe effect. You can hardly blame the kids or parents who chase a dream.

I have long ago said that UIL pitchers should play different positions during summer months.
