The regular-season ending to the 7-on-7 State Qualifying Tournaments will be this week with the Houston area and the La Marque Cougars hosting to a two-day extravaganza at the Houston Amateur Sports Park.
54 Division I teams (Class 5A and 4A) have qualified for state including area schools Langham Creek, Reagan, Cinco Ranch, Stratford, Cy Falls, Terry, Pearland, Manvel, Cy-Fair, The Woodlands, Lamar, Katy, Jersey Village, Cy Ranch, Westfield and A&M Consolidated, and that leaves 12 state berths up for grabs, and four go to the top two finishers at the Muscle Milk-Sam Brown Scholarship SQTs (http://www.chron.com/?controllerName=search&action=search&channel=news&search=1&inlineLink=1&query=%22Muscle+Milk-Sam+Brown+Scholarship+SQTs%22) on Saturday and Sunday.
The Houston Muscle Milk-Sam Brown Scholarship SQT I on Saturday has Lamar, Clear Falls, Montgomery and Dawson in Pool A; Manvel, Clear Springs, Bush and Clements in Pool B; Cinco Ranch, Ridge Point, Dickinson and Port Arthur Memorial in Pool C; and Pearland, La Porte, Klein Collins (http://www.chron.com/?controllerName=search&action=search&channel=news&search=1&inlineLink=1&query=%22Klein+Collins%22) and Strake Jesuit in Pool D.
Lamar, Manvel, Cinco Ranch and Pearland already have Division I state berths and will not advance out of pool play.
On Sunday, the lineup features La Marque, Deer Park, Bay City and Magnolia in Pool A; The Woodlands, Channelview, Spring Branch Memorial and Beaumont Central in Pool B; Cy Ranch, Willis, Alvin and Oak Ridge in Pool C; and Stratford, Cy Creek, Pasadena Memorial and MacArthur in Pool D.
La Marque (Division II for Class 3A, 2A and A school), The Woodlands, Cy Ranch and Stratford have clinched state spots and will only compete in pool action.

Pool games are at 9, 10 and 11 a.m., semifinal at 1 p.m., and the championship-third place contests at 2 p.m., at Houston Amateur Sports Park, 12131 Kirby Drive, Houston.
