Thanks Phil C! I was just about to post this. Not only did she break the world record in women's... it's a world record for both men's and women's international soccer!

Abby Wambach is an amazing player. In most other parts of the world, mens soccer is well above the level the USMNT (mens). That's not the case for the USWNT (womens). The USWNT is ranked #1 in the world. Shows where soccer is heading, especially for the womens side.

Aside from Wambach's new record, I think Alex Morgan can potentially be the only other player to challenge it in this era. She's only 24 and has the finishing skills and speed of an elite soccer player.
