I'm in fat city, sitting here reading my Dave Campbell signed DCTF magazine. Scooted over to the Texas Sports Hall of Fame and caught Mr. Campbell as he was about to head out, then visited with an old friend who is a curator. Quite a legend.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see Port Isabel @ #17! However, I'm sure this ranking was made prior to Port Isabel's OC, DC, OL coach and RBs coach departure to Freer.

PI does return a good amount of starters off their State Quarterfinalist team from last season. It's all going to depend on how well the team responds to the new coaches that come in.

Good to see the leps at 19. They return 9 on offense and 7 on defense and should give D26 a good run for their money.

Kind of surprised to not see Palestine on this list. Brining back 7 on offense and 8 on defense, of a team that lost by 3 to Carthage in the first round. Brining back 3 division 1 players, Jarrell Owens who is committed to TCU, Brian Thlang who is committed to Louisiana Monroe, and Ben Luckett who has offers from Texas State, North Texas, and Louisiana Monroe.

Good thing for everyone is, rankings do not matter, but give us something to talk about in June. August needs to get here fast!

I think they reward great programs sometimes when it is uncertain how good they may be. WT drew a very good Bellvile team in second round otherwise would have likely gone to the semi's with just a handful of really top senior players meaning they must have a good amount of jr's (and a soph) that were good players.

The Texans will be fine...my best friend since jr. high in Alvarado, works in administration at Weatherford ISD. says everyone is very happy and hopeful with the new head coach and expecting good things for the Roos this year and beyond!
