Doesnt matter, thinking 5-8 hours. Was thinking beach or heading west, Pecos etc.... Thought about heading down to Cajun country too. Morgan City, then back up thru Lafayette or something Saturday night.

I'll say this I spent the weekend in Alpine two weeks ago and it was a really cool little town.....

Ive been to Alpine once but was a long time ago. How long of a drive from Dallas?

I bet if you really mash the gas you can get there in 7 1/2....high speed limits out that way....

I ate at the original Reata and a couple of awesome mexican joints there......beautiful scenery...

Too bad I have 7 on 7 this weekend or we could do the BBQ tour!!!
