Come on Spurs! 4 more wins.

Talking about a sweep is indeed premature. You have to remember that Miami is an excellent proud determined talented team and will be determined to win Game 2. Our Hero will be at his best. Remember the main thing is that San Antonio was hoping to split in Miami and they have already done so and if they can take Game 2 so much the better. Remember last year the Heat lost game 1 in the finals and went on to win the next 4. So we must be cautious and careful. I fell that the Spurs need to win at least 2 games in San Antonio and if they go back to Miami for Game 6 they need to have a 3-2edge. It won't be easy. Go Spurs!

Phil C

Game 2 starts soon fellow Spurs fans. I want to let you know not to be disappointed in the Miami win that is coming tonight but they are desperate and don't want to be down 0-2. Our Hero and his teammates will be at their best but be encouraged. The Spurs got the split in Miami they wanted these first two games and have a good chance to win the series if they can take 2 games in San Antonio so be encouraged.

Spurs were playing good but looked sloppy and now at end of 3 Miami has a ten point lead. Miami is playing good but the game is getting away from the Spurs with sloppy play. Of course I am not surprised even though disappointed. Pop is going to burn.

Game 2 happened as I expected. Now the series goes to San Antonio. The Spurs must win game 3 or the series will be over. Now the urgency is on SA's corner and I expect Coach Pop to make the needed adjustments. The Spurs surprised me by falling apart in the last 14 minutes but hopefully they will be prepared. We will see. If anyone had said they would split with Miami the first two games last week I would have took it.

The important Game 3 starts soon. I think it has the potential to be a blowout or a very close game again although I don't know which way. This is a must win for the Spurs. In fact for them to have a chance they must win 2 out 3 at home. If they lose tonight the series will be over. They need to play great all game long and not fall apart like they did Sunday. We will see. It won't be easy doing it against our Hero but hopefully the Spurs can win. This is the biggest game thus far now.

Miami just got their butt kicked in every way by the Spurs. I'd say this series resembles Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde so far. I'm hoping it's Miami that's Mr. Hyde, lol....that they will want to go hide after this series is over, haha. Of course, the Spurs have the better coaching, so that's in their favor. Miami's team chemistry is nothing to be compared with that of the Spurs. They just happen to have a couple of great basketball players on the team, and sometimes Wade and Lebron don't exactly work together that well.

I’m not a big Spurs fan but hope they win, I like Pop. One would think the Heat will come out very strong and aggressive and take the early lead followed by the Spur’s bench taking advantage of the exhausted Miami team, late in the forth.

It could happen. We will see. But Spurs must keep it close. At the end of the first quarter Miami leads 29 to 26 and looks sharp as I expected. I wish the Spurs could start getting more productivity out of Manu as far as scoring points.

I agree. Spurs came back and it is tied at halftime 49 all. maestro like you I feel if Spurs can keep it close at the end of the third they have a chance. Hopefully they will start hitting on some 3s. Danny Green is not trying the 3s but driving to the rim. Could be some of Coach Pop's strategy though but I still hope they can start hitting them.

Phil C
06-13-2013, 10:06 PM
Just under four in the third and Spurs are keeping it close and behind 69 to 66. Hopefully they won't fall apart like they did in Game 2. No matter what happens it is encouraging because the Spurs are playing good but not at their best. Miami is playing at their best. Hopefully Spurs can take this game. We will see. Go Spurs Go!

Phil C
06-13-2013, 10:49 PM
Game 5 is of upmost importance to both teams. After that the other two games if needed will be in Miami. Spurs must win game 5 or it is over. If they win they have a chance - it won't be over because of Miami having home court advantage. Spurs must play better as they are capable but turnovers and missed shots killed them. If Manu doesn't start earning his salary it will kill them too.

The Spurs are a real team that Miami has to deal with. They have better team chemistry and a better coach. Heck, they have a better organization than the Heat. The Spurs are to be congratulated with this kind of showing, considering the overall talent on Miami's team. To win it all in Miami will be a HUGE task, but not impossible. But if they do win it all in Miami.....WOW oh WOW!!! What a major disappointment for the Miami Heat again. First the Mavs, then the Spurs....two TEXAS teams kicking their arses for all the marbles. Wouldn't that be something!!! Go get 'em, Spurs. You weren't even picked to make it to the finals by all the "talking heads". Joey Crawford is officiating tonight so make plans for game 7...the NBA has.

There is one way to overcome them and that is really outplay the Heat and hit those 3s like the third game and if the Heat crowd them then Tim and Tony and Manu kill them on the inside. The Spurs defense also needs to play well. Of course Manu needs to keep playing well also. The Spurs need to get a big lead because if it is close Crawford will most likely see it goes to Game 7. If that is the trend if I were the Spurs I would pull out my players that could use a rest and play them Thursday. The experts are predicting Miami will win both games in Miami but then they had Miami winning Game 5. Spurs against the World and the corrupt (I have heard) NBA.

The Spurs beat themselves tonight. Missed free throws, subbing out Duncan and giving up second chance shots on two 3's late in the game. Yeah Manu was fouled but he had no business taking that shot. It has me believing that teams with no class get eliminated before the finals.

Both teams on the podium are classy, poised, and can FORM A SENTENCE.

Ray Allen speaking on his shot and what it takes to get to that point is must listening for jh/hs players.

The non calls at the end hurt, but the Spurs had too many self inflicted wounds. If they make their FTs, it's church. Pop made some questionable decisions, also.

The sentiment seems to be that this is over, but I'm not so sure. The Heat, while they showed some courage last night, have a tendency to have a lot of fold in them. If the Spurs can keep this close, I don't see Pop and the Spurs failing late again and I don't see the Heat being that good late twice in a row. I still think SA has a very good chance to win this.

Good points. The Heat have the home court advantage which is a definite plus but I don't feel the crowd is that big a factor in the pros. Both teams have players that have been to a game 7 so that can help settle the inexperienced game 7 teammates which is a big help. Remember last night the Spurs wanted to win but the Heat had to win. Now these factors into Game 7. They have rotated wins so let's hope the trend continues even though the Heat are capable of breaking the trend. If the Spurs play good like last night and take what the Heat give them they have a chance but they do need to do a little better on the free throws and avoid as many turnovers especially by Manu and Manu and Parker must play well. Also let's hope the refs do a good and fair job.
Also let 's hope the Spurs don't do like the Rangers did in the world series 2 years ago when they blew game 6 and came back playing sorry in game 7. Let's hope Spurs can come back determined and every one play well.

Ultimately it will probably come down to who wants it more. I will make a prediction tomorrow but most experts think the Heat will win.

Phil C

Another factor is that most likely the NBA and Stern want the Heat to win for obvious reason$. Most fans either love or hate the Heat like MLB New York Yankees. This would be enhanced if the Heat win and create more revenue. It is all about the money.

Let's hope a change is due this years. Usually when it goes to game 7 the final loser wins game 6. Now let's hope that trend continues.

Just read the Sports Illustrated article that goes back and interviews the major players of the classic battle between Barkley's Suns and Jordan's Bulls.

Two teams that were performing at their best in the finals.

Literally coming down to a single possession. And it wasn't Michael that shot the winner (Paxson)

This makes guys like Ray Allen, Manu, and Green very valuable.

LOL @ Heat fans. Thousands evacuated the arena before the game ended, then tried to break down doors to get back in and the cops had to keep them out.

I say Spurs win it tomorrow. Heat miss making the finals next year, and then Lebron opts out realizing there is little hope left with the big 3 taking up almost the entire salary cap. Comes to Dallas with Dirk and CP3.

Hey Emerson remember that Phil Jackson commercial where he is critical of a double of Heat fans that think the game is over and try to get back in but can't and the Heat rally to win it. Ironic isn't it? :)

Prediction time for game 7. Logic and the experts say the Heat and everytime I have said they would win they did.

For tonight I say the Spurs are going to fight and win and do what it takes to get it. I don't know who is doing to step up tonight (hopefully the whole team) but I feel someone will. Remember this is a prediction not a guarantee. I am not always right but this time I hope I am. We will see.

Go Spurs! Fight and Win!

Question is will they play as crappy in game 7 as game 6, , , , Hell, they still almost won. Took it into overtime. Green and Parker must have a better game tonight. Timmy needs to be on the floor the final minutes for sure.

I think the Spurs win tonight and the Heat fans will feel confident about leaving early this time.

You know they've been harping on the age of Duncan the whole playoffs but Manu has been the one that looks 40 plus.. at least in this series. If he contributes anything in a positive way the Spurs will win.

I hope they start Diaw instead of Ginobili. Ginobili can come off the bench but he needs to be slashing and getting to the basket, not running the offense.

Miami is ahead 18 to 16 but I am worried. Manu is still playing bad and Tony needs to do better. Battiea (Spelling?) killed Spurs with 2 wide open 3s. My prediction may be wrong the way things are going.

Phil C

Three minutes still the half and Miami ahead by 3. I hope Spurs can keep it close till the half. Both teams are obviously tired. Go Spurs!

Phil C
06-20-2013, 09:21 PM
Halftime and Miami ahead 46 to 44. San Antonio has been kept in the game by free throws. I hope they can start scoring and play defense. A team may make a run in the third quarter and I hope it is the Spurs. Green has had opportunities to shoot threes but hasn't taken them. If he can catch fire that may be the spark Spurs need. Manu and Parker are playing a little better in the last few minutes.

Phil C
06-20-2013, 10:06 PM
Miami by one going into the fourth. For the Spurs to win they need to start making shots and go on a good run. A close game or OT will probably go the Heat's way since home court in 7th game will be a factor. Both teams have fought well.

06-20-2013, 10:20 PM
Eight minutes left and a 2pt. game....anything can happen to either team down the stretch for all the marbles here. The Heat are certainly favored in this one at home, but we'll see what the Spurs have left.

06-20-2013, 10:26 PM
If the Spurs do win, it won't be because of Genobli's play....it will be because of defense in the clutch. Somebody will need to step up and start hitting 3's for SA(Green). They need to get at least even, or maybe a small lead before the last couple of minutes.

Well it's good to know as a Mavs fan that Ginobli is officially washed up.
Spurs are about to suck.
Wade is going to be in even worse shape next year. Lebron is opting out in 2014 when he realizes two washed up guys take up 2/3 of the Heat salary cap.
CP3 joins Dallas this year.
Lebron joins Dallas next year.
Mavs four-peat.

I still like SA's chances at a very good run next year. Leonard was very impressive for a 21 year old in the finals series. Tony has a lot of gas left in the tank, and green is a quality starter. The spurs should have some money to spend on filling a spot or two with quality player or two, and this could be interesting next year.

Spurs had a great run but getting a Duncan to replace a Robinson is a once in a franchise history event. It isn't going to happen again. As good as Parker and Ginoboli have been it was Duncan that made that team successful. How much more does he have in the tank?

Yes, sadly history will speak of the dominance of LaBron in the clutch...

And this playoff bracket was Miami all the way....

But Indiana and those Spurs had them beaten!!!!

Miami was going to take advantage of a gift second chance.

Heat may have a dynasty coming but not yet. One NBA championship does not mean dynasty or even two in a row but you get that third one or even 3 out 4 or 3 out of 5 or better then you can start talking dynasty.
I think Tim has one good year left and Tony should have a few and if as he should Manu retires they will have money for free agents.
I took for Lakers and Thunder to really work to improve their team next year.

Duncan really looked old, at times. He had a great series, but you could tell there were times he wanted to do certain things but his body just wouldn't do it. For example, 5 years ago, he would have eaten a guy like the birdman up. He would have made him look like a chump.

If the spurs landed Jefferson, they'd be a championship contender again. Can you imagine how good he'd be if pop was coaching him up?

Leonard is going to lead the spurs and he'll be a perennial all star. He made a name for himself this post season. Plus parker has still got a lot in the tank.

Danny Green showed up at the Heat celebration party. I am sure it was innocent and good sportsmanship but the ones who cry fix are going to have a field day. This will especially look suspecious if Green goes to the Heat when he is a free agent. Remember the fixers will point out how great he played early but not so much in Games 6 and 7. I don't think he should have gone even though as a Spurs fan I am sure it was innocent but the fixer criers are going to yell.

I'm not sure they can win it all with Westbrook running point. He's too unreliable and sometimes just flat out of control. Then again, so was Parker his first few years.
