You have to love the way they cover our area, it is pretty much the only paper we can have delivered . Sports section today has nice article about the Woodlands baseball team , does not even mention that La Grange is also playing in tournament. We are 50 miles away , guess that is to far away for them to cover us. This is nothing new for the last couple years but making it to the State tourney should at least get you mentioned in the sports page, down right pitiful.

Woodlands also has a team full of college prospects and a couple of pro prospects.....that might have something to do with it.

Houston Chronicle isn't much better.

Houston 5A

4A covered in playoffs

3A does not exist unless you can go deep in playoffs AND THEN they pick ONE 3A school and give them 4 sentences.

ROYAL and YATES got stories for going to state but gosh, you would certainly hope so.

Hoping that LaMarque dropping down would help.

Here is an idea.....play LaMarque in football and Yates in hoops and get the story.

Example, wonder how many Houston area fans even knew Sweeny was ranked number one in state???

They should change it's name to The Austin Disappointment.

That's big town newspapers for you.
The Houston Post had great high school coverage when it was still in print.
The Chronicle has been down in high school coverage for several years since Bill McMurry was in charge
When I was in sports at the Wharton paper for 25 years, we were all about local and county sports and of course Wharton County Junior College
