Just got my membership package. I turn 50, June 17th. You 3ADL'ers who are 50+, is it worth joining? Really don't know the benefits of being a member or if it's worth it.

AARP is a joke! Be a man and don't rely on that crap.

They do speak to legislatures though. It is worth the nominal annual dues that you pay but I don't give them extra.

My wife joined but dropped out. She did not see any benefit in it. I think she felt they leaned towards socialized medicine to much. I never enrolled.

Yes, further research, I too don't like the way they lean political wise. I just went and got the payment back out of mail, and tore it up.

be thankful you are closer to cheaper coffee at the dead pecker club aka mcdonalds in the morning and senior citizen discounts at ross dress for less on Tuesday and senior citizen meals.

Good News....you are now eligible for the senior free breakfasts at the Winstar Casino. I think they fall on Tues. and Thurs.

This will tell you what you need to know.

AARP sold us out to Obamacare...they are an insurance company that plans on being at the forefront of the premium line...pure scumbags...I support AMAC

Isn't it funny how about a week or 2 before we turn 50 the AARP packages start arriving. I just tore up the 2 that I got. I know that historically I do not agree with the political leanings that they have. I did get a good laugh though....or maybe more accurately, my wife did :p

I did the same. I don't agree with their views at all or support Progressive Insurance either.

This group sounds more to my liking. I like their views.
