I'll start it with a Region 2 final.
Game 1: Argyle(W10) 9
Melissa(W12) 8
The game was played at Smotherman Field in Frisco. Argyle ace Drew Gooch took himself out of the game after 4 inninings due to illness. He has been sick, but tried to compete in tonite's contest. Melissa capitalized early with a two-run shot in the 2nd with 2 outs after Argyle's third baseman committed an error, and gave up another long ball in the 4th before removing himself from the mound. His normal stuff was just not there tonite. Argyle's bats did just enough, and combined with patience at the plate forcing Melissa's pitchers to walk 10 Argyle batters on the night. Argyle scored 7 runs in the 5th & 6th innings to get the win. Friday's game will be back in Frisco at 7:00 pm. It will be a must-win for the Melissa Cardinals to force a third game in the series.
