Celina successfully defends their title!!

Ran a 3:16.15 in the 4 X 400. 3rd in the 4 X 100, won the 300 intermediate hurdles, the shot and 5th in the discus.

Congratulations to Paris. They set a new 3A meet record in the 4 X 200 with a 1:25.82.

A big congratulations to our district 10 Celina Bobcats on repeating as the Class 3-A State Champs in track & field. On a side note, Argyle's UT signee Spencer McCloud also repeated as gold medalist in high jump as he soared to a jump of 6'8". Congrats to Spencer as well.

Celina won back to back state championships for the first time in 1969 & 1970. Not bad for a team without East Texas speed!

Not to diminish East Texas speed at all, but I think it's crept into North Texas like a weed, lol. We all recognize there is lots of speed associated with most of the traditional playoff teams out of East Texas(in football). Why that doesn't translate to track in East Texas may be from a programs problem, for all I know. But kudos to the small schools in 3A like Celina that do have their kids involved in both sports.
