Needville 5
Yoakum 1

Game 1, best of 3

Overall good game, Yoakum had some chance however their defense let them down a couple times. Ramsey threw well , average 90's as someone stated in another tread no way. I would say average low to mid 80's last night , someone told me last night that he was 90-92 however that would be hard for me to beleive. Good looking kid , I like him better as a hitter then pitcher. Yoakum will need to step up their game, Needville overall pretty decent team.

Yes, tip of the cap to Ramsey. Might consider pitching around him. Very good opo hitter, and I'm sure if it's pitched in, he'll drive it too. Whoever brought that gun that stated he was in the 90's, must of picked up the north wind gust's behind him. I say, mid 80's, tops. Still, quality arm and a very hard out when at the plate. Great eye and will not swing at balls just off the plate.

Can't say we are surprised to be down 1-0. And, can't say we'll be surprised to sweep the next two. Good luck Cuero tonight. H&L, ya'll play HV tonight?

Yeah it's tough sitting through one of those games as well.

Especially with the weather last night. Felt like that 5th inning would never come.

I was told he was hitting 92 in an earlier game not last night, hard to beleive he could pickup that much more velosity. As stated still a very solid pitcher but very hittiable , competes very well. You guys can take two from them however will need to play solid D and get the bats rolling, Good Luck.

Yup, our "D" failed us last night. Left 8 on base, out hit them. But, can't have 3 errors on routine plays. Key for the next two. Make routine plays, must pitch ahead in count, hit line drives and make sure Ramsey comes to the plate with bases empty. He can clear them in a hurry. I'll put him in your son's category as a hitter H&L. First hitter I seen this year, set up a pitcher.

I didn't get to go to Pearsall to the Sinton vs Pearsall series in which the best of three series starts tonight. Games 2 and 3 if needed will be tomorrow in Sinton starting at 1 P.M. I don't know how to post with a cell phone but tomorrow if anyone wants updates to post PM me and I will trade cell phone numbers in case no one is posting tomorrow.

Keep pounding the fool out of those inner city schools. It is no ones fault but their own that they are so bad. They dont put any time, money or energy into baseball so they deserve what they get.

Agree
Funny how fans that would fuss over blowouts vs their teams in baseball encourage their schools to pound people in football and hoops

Look at those bluejays!!!

Bluejays will try for one game series I assure you. We stunk the place up last night. Bluejays hurting from the bump after Ramsey. They have a chance in one gamers with him toeing the rubber. Their #2 is a crafty lefty, descent curve, no over powering stuff. We could not lay off the curve in the dirt, and when we did make contact, it was popped up. And, we once again booted the ball all over the place.

Channel 10 in Corpus Christi came through and reported in game 1 Sinton beat Pearsall 4-2.I do some updates over at http://txhighschoolbaseball.com/forum/ let easier to update in that forum.

----------R H E
Sinton-- 4 6 2
Pearsall 2 2 4

WP- Jonathan Acosta IP 7 R 2 ER 0 BB 3 SO 10 H 2

Sinton
Andrew Mercier 2 for 3 sb
Trey Gallegos 2 for 3 double, rbi
Dalton Castillo 1 for 2
Donnie Lopez 1 for 4

Acosta is 5-0 in last 5 starts with 34 innings pitched and 1 earn run allowed with only 8 hits allowed. Acosta has allowed more than 3 hits in a game only once this year.

Sinton got out of some jams in the 6th and 7th as the defense had some lapses but came up with the plays to get out of them. Pearsall had them loaded in the bot of the 7th with no outs on no hits.

It was playoff atmosphere last night as Pearsall packed the stands.
Pearsall battled the whole game and had their chances in this low scoring game.Sinton lineup not clicking yet to produce big innings but they're making contact and some good swings just not producing some results yet.

Bitter are you, big 4A power.

Not sure what I would have to be bitter about.

District 25 swept district 26 in football after hearing all year on this site how strong 26 was.

Now I have watched the d26 baseball hype all season and then had to hear how Yoakum would sweep the final two games of the series against needville.

I'm just waiting for a D26 team to live up to the hype. Maybe it will be La Grange or Cuero.
