Does it mean anything? What are your thoughts? Bigger than an SC?

Nice accomplishment, but not the end all be all. A good gauge of overall athletic programs. Lorena has been in the top ten quite often in the past few years, even with only 550 students. Same with Cuero.

A great accomplishment. It speaks volumes for the school. Regaleagle (Argyle) can tell you that.

The Lone Star Cup includes not only the school's athletic programs, but its success in other UIL activities like band, math, science, editorial, speech, and the like. It's an overall accomplishment for the students in that school. It is HIGHLY cherished and the TOP UIL award that a school can earn in its respective classification without question. It gives a snapshot of the high accomplishment of excellence the students aspired to against their classification in all of Texas in many areas. The UIL webpage will spell out the particular categories in which the points are awarded as the schoolyear progresses. Athletics is a major contributor to the points, but so is scholastic excellence and other extracurricular activiites. Argyle students are very extracurricular, and spend hours upon hours after classes participating in their chosen activit(ies). This is very commendable and goes a long way toward scholarship opportunities for those students' high school resumes. We live in a competitive world, and this type of program creates an environment in which students can learn to cope, compete, and hone their skills within a structured system of accomplishment.
