This one below is one of his most popular songs written and recorded in 1952 but released after his death in 1953. You can catch the movie of the same title on TCM on 4-24-13 at 11:30 A.M. The time may be inconvenient so you may want to set the recorders. It is interesting although it isn't completely historically accurate.

I knew Hank wrote it but was not aware of the Rolling Stone poll. Has always been a favorite of mine but Gary Morris just completed it IMO.

Old Hank just had a way with the words. He wrote simple songs for the common man. Always came straight to the point in what he was trying to say. Just like this one.

If Hank Sr was alive today, radio would not be playing his music because he would be too country sounding. He was the real deal and the best songwriter around
