TOC Texas BBQ Bracket Challenge

Since its still the off-season I had an idea to have some fun and incorporate my love for BBQ into something fun ...so I've decided to do the TOC BBQ Bracket Challenge...

We'll do a 64 bracket style tournament to crown who the Texas HS Football world believes has the best BBQ in the state....

we'll divide the tournament into four "regions"

The Matt Stepp Region
The TOC Region
The Matt Diggs Region
The Carl Padilla Region

We want the entire state represented so put your recommendations here on this thread....we've got all the big boys already so no need to list any of the Lockhart joints, no need to list Salt Lick, Coopers, Franklin's Snow's, City Market etc.

Funny story... Had a few guys in from Chicago the other day for business. They'd heard about Hard 8 BBQ in Sville. Took them there and they were beside themselves on the amount of meat on the open pit.. and couldn't get enough. LOL Funny thing is it's not that good for BBQ but I guess if you live where BBQ isn't really BBQ, it's pretty good. I do have to admit the brisket was exceptionally good that day.. weird because it's hit or miss there. One guy said he'd eat there everyday if he lived in Sville. lol

Side note: the only thing that I really like there is their chopped beef sandwich. If you ever go there, order the chopped beef sandwich (chopped right there in front of you), get them to mix in some jalapeno sausage with it, request the jalapeno sour dough bun that they toast, have them drizzle some spicy BBQ sauce on it. Man o man... good stuff!

The original is Stephenville. Brady and Coppel were the next locations and now it is in Roanoke.

They named it after the ranch they had in Brady.

I am not a fan of Underwood's personally but its one of the more well known BBQ spots around...its unique for sure....

It is well known and was named a top ten restaurant years back by Texas Monthly. I eat there 3 or 4 times a year and enjoy it I just consider it a cafeteria and tourist stop. Was surprised to see it listed among the group.
