Argyle freshman Chase Roth defeated junior Jorge Santos of Carrollton Creekview 7-1 to win the Class 4A State Wrestling Title in the 106 weight class. His record for the season ended up being 29-1. The two other Argyle wrestlers that qualified in their weight classes were defeated, but the experience of making it to the state meet against 4A competition was impressive, nonetheless. Argyle's wrestling program had a State Champion that won the title twice in his weight class(Jeff Martz) several years ago against the best in the state in all classifications.
