Once Yoakum shores up the fundamental "D", they'll be very good. Deep, above average rotation, blazing speed on the path's. Lacking will be the long ball, but--better contact hitting than in prior years. Some routine drops and hit batters extended the innings last night and gave Victoria 7 of their ten runs. That will be corrected I'm sure, along with sliding when stealing bases.

Teague beat Fairfield! Wow!!!! How embarrassing. I do know Teague has a STUD that I use to coach in little league. Dude is a player!

In a big 3A opening season game in Class 3A, #4 Argyle defeated #9 West in a battle of state-ranked teams. The game was played in Argyle, and the Eagles took the lead 5-0 after 2 innings, eventually winning 6-1. Drew Gooch struck out 6.

Teague should be pretty solid this year. I believe they have quite a few starters out for basketball.
