Not only one of my coaches but also a close friend. Thank you for all your assistance.

I met Mike in the spring of 1986 while working at the Wharton Journal-Spectator. He was at Stafford as an assistant. He was such a friendly and out-going coach, person and very hospitable.
We've kept in touch since them wherever we went. While at the Bay City Tribune, I interviewed Mike several times and he was our All-Matagorda County Football Team Coach of the Year.
After I lost my job there, he called me personally and said I would be missed and to keep in touch with him. He also said I could use him for a source for any new job.
We still keep in contact.
I can't say enough good about him. He always got the most of his players and was a great AD as well. He was an outstanding member of the community wherever he was.
I was able to take pictures and interview his daughter Jamie when she played at Wharton County Junior College.
I wish him and his family the best

I should have included the word "good" in front of coaches.
