Went to Tony's in Sealy tonight before going to dance in Cat Spring
Waitress told me that third refill of tea would cost regular price.
Have been going there for over 5 years even after the new owner took over and got 3-5 refills.
Cost enough as it is without having to pay for a re-fill.
As much as we go out to eat. I always have at least 3-4 refills and never told about being charged extra

That is ridiculous. Tea has one of largest profit margins of all restaraunt items. From the internet "A cost of a pitcher of iced tea averages about $0.06 in most of the USA based on 1/2 gallon of water (less than $0.01 but rounded UP to $0.01) and 2 tea bags at $).03 cents each) This pitcher can fill up to 8 glasses so each glass would cost only $0.008 cents. The average restaurant in Houston charges between $1.29 and $2.25 cents for Iced Tea. "

Sounds like they are trying to run off customers.

Called the owner today and he said it's a new policy as well that it includes limits on coffee.
Will be our last time to dine there

Lol because your 3rd refill will cost an extra dollar or so?

Who even drinks 4 glasses when they go out? That's absurd

My bad. I told my wife about the tea thing. It's just crazy to do such a thing considering the profit margin. Maybe they use Tazo teas. lol. We agreed it would be enough to keep us from returning to the restaurant.

Loading up with fluids before the $2.00 beers?

After two refills, your deadbeat ass should pay. Tonys dont need your type of business. I will be there all week now at breakfast to make the difference up for you. I will also make sure I tip weill for good service. Dont let the door hit you in the ass.

I bet he was happy. I generally don't finish one glass at a meal. Usually others are waiting to eat so I get up and go instead of acting like I rented the table for the night.

No places in Wharton, El Campo or Needville have refill limits as well as Schoebel's in Columbus

To clarify what the owner said why the reason was.
Said too many of the locals were coming in and staying 2-3 hours and drinking coffee and visiting with each other. It wasn't that bad of a case with tea and sofa but they decided to make it a across the board policy with all drinks. We never stay longer than 30 minutes-45 at the most if are with friends.

So you sometimes drink 4 to 6 drinks (3-5 refills) in at most 45 mins?

I wouldn't even drink that much if I had just run a half marathon

I would, but the tea isn't that good at Tony's.

Your right about that Manso. I'm just a big tea drinker and always have been. Drinking 3-4 glasses for dinner or supper is no problem for me. But at home we brew it and use decaffeinated. I hardly ever drink soft drinks anymore

I easily have at least 3 glasses of what ever I am drinking while I eat. My wife on the other hand won't even take a drink until she is done with her dinner.

They show ESPN on the TV at Tony's, I don't know.

But on the topic again, I drink lots of tea when at dinner. Even though this isn't that expensive, it would piss me off.

maybe next time bring your own tea in and complain that they are not refilling it fast enough.

I have never heard of a re-fill limit, but I guess times are good when you can kick the old timers out of there and still run a business.

If I was one of those old dudes, I would buy another cup of tea and soak up some more AC for another hour or two.
