The Argyle wrestling team sent 7 members to the Regional tournament in Class 4A on Sat. Feb. 2 in the 5-4A district meet held in Azle. Three Argyle Eagles won district in their respective weight classes, and as a team Argyle took 4th place.

Here's the rundown on the wrestling results:

Chase Roth(Fresh.) wins Region in 106 weight class with a record of 25-1.

Tanner Kukertz(Fresh.) wins Region in 113 weight class with a record of 11-0.

Cutler McMartin(Sr.) qualifies for State Tourney in 132 weight class with a record of 17-4.

Note: Three out of seven regional qualifiers are going to Austin. Every single opponent these boys ( and the entire Argyle team) were matched against thru the season had many more matches under their belt than did the Eagle wrestlers, but Argyle still managed to do very well in Class 4A with limited matches. Overall, a stellar showing for the Argyle wrestling team against some very good programs.

The State Wrestling Tourney will be at the Delco Center in Austin on Thurs, Fri, and Sat.(Feb. 21, 22, 23). The brackets are still to be determined. Good luck to our Eagle wrestlers.
