Padilla Poll Classic 2013 (Week 1)

Just seen a very interesting tweet from Carl Padilla.

"Padilla Poll Classic Week 1 2013. Changing schedules for a State Champion to play the Valley's Tradition!"

The three programs with any kind of "tradition" are Harlingen in 5A, Edcouch-Elsa in 4A, and Port Isabel in 3A. He already set up a Harlingen vs. Abilene matchup a couple years ago.

So there may be a possible Port Isabel vs. Navasota/Stephenville matchup coming up.

I'm trying to recall who Port Isabel has in Week 1. I know they have a 5A team in Week 0. I think it's Lyford or Raymondville in Week 1 I don't recall exactly.

And so what if it's a blowout. Some big game experience so early in the season would pay big dividends for Port Isabel, I think. Besides, PI returns 8 OFF and 7 DEF starters from their State Quarterfinal team. PI will be no pushover, contrary to popular belief around here.
