With the recent health issues in my family with my wife I started researching health and foods. Did you know you body's PH level is a direct result of your health? Because of poor diet and not eating healthy Americans are very acidic in there PH. Around 7 is neutral and 5 is low. Cancer patients are almost always below 5.
My wife PH is now between 7 and 8 slightly Alkaline and her spot on her lungs in NOT CANCER.
So please buy some test strips at your local health food store and check yours. It's way cheaper than a doctor visit and is easy to monitor. We have been juicing greens like kale spinach etc... With apples pears oranges cucumbers have even thrown in some ginger root and garlic or onions for spice from time to time.
If you make juice fruits they are very very good and replace the cokes and stuff. There are great sweeteners that are very good and all natural. Get rid of the iodized salt and try kosher sea salt. Hell we even started mixing in a little aloe vera juice. IF you have a Jamba Juice try a shot of wheatgrass make you feel great. Or you can buy the powder and do a shot. 1 shot is like 2 pounds of greens. I know we all like our meats and cheeses I love the stuff. But guess what watch this documentary called FAT SICK AND NEARLY DEAD. It will change you life. Also if you smoke please stop. Did you know your lungs can heal and heal fast? I don't want to preach to anyone but this has saved our lives and now don't think you have to be vegan or go insane just make an effort to try to at least get your PH up. Cancer can not grow in an alkaline environment and thrives in acidic environment like 90% of us 3a down lowers so please at least look into it and give it a shot you will be around much longer and feel way better. I know I talk some serious crap from time to time and like to stir things up but from the bottom of my heart at least read about it. I can give you advise on juicers and whatever you need to get started and one last thing juiced BEETS are like a big Viagra pill and you can start pounding the old lady like the days when you were in high school. Peace and love or kids deserve to see us around and watch our grand kids grow up as well. If you are sick PM me I can give you some pointers that have been given to me the stuff really does work I promise it can save/change your life.

This is a great way to get off almost any medications

Good for you old tiger. I'm proud of you and glad you shared that. I have no other reason to talk about any of this I don't sell vitamin or have a health food store this is just my way of helping a great group of TEXANS and fellow football/ sport lover who love their families. It's amazing trust me check into it you won't be sorry

Good stuff Ville. I'm gettin' ready to make some life style changes. Just got a really nice universal gym with all the bells and whistles. And it was free! And, I'm cuttin' down on the crap food. I need to try and stay ahead of my age and still be able to arm wrestle my boys...I'm 6'1" & 200 with 34 waist and no gut but I just don't feel as good as I think I should.....plus I gotta get ready for Greendawg and panfan cause they're both threatening to kick my ass for no reason!....My wife cut out the cokes and lost 8 lbs in one month just by doing that. She drinks tea now and doc said to keep doing it. Funny you mention aloe vera. I discovered on my own that aloe vera works great as an underarm deordorant. HEB sells pure aloe vera in the hand lotion section. I decided to rub a dab on each armpit and test it. It's a little slimy and cool at first but dries quickly. Not only does it work and I don't stink, but I feel pretty good about not using regular deodorants which have been linked to some bad things. Been using aloe now for 3 months. I'm done with Old Spice, Mennen, and all that other crap!! Juicing is something I've always wanted to try but can't convince the wifey to go along with me and get a juicer. What kind did you get?

I watched Fat Sick and Nearly Dead last July 1st. I started Juicing for lunch and cut out most sugar (especially coke and dr pepper) and I have lost 40lbs since then. Went from 255 to 215.

My lunch recipe:

1 lemon
1 orange
2 small apples
1 cucumber
1" piece of ginger
3 carrotts
3 sticks of celery
2 cups of baby spinach
3 stalks of kale
3 leaves of chard
1/2 a bunch of parsley

I run all that through my juicer - The Omega 8006

It makes about 40oz of juice. My wife drinks about 10oz and I have the rest.

I feel 100% better.

My grandparents go on a strict version of the Daniel fast every January.

Old man juices a lot. They've lost a lot of weight and gotten much healthier over the years doing it

I understand .. but most of us don't have time to be grinding up stuff at the house. It seems that everything we were told in the 60's or 70's went out of style and is now coming back. Who knows anymore. I'm getting to the age where I worry more about how I enjoy the day than how I look to other people. :)

Urine and Saliva
Urine is a reflection of short term ( the day prior )
Saliva is long term basically ( last few months or years )

We did it for health issues the weight loss is just a bonus. And I make a pitcher full and we use it throughout the day. I'm not living on juice like the guy did in the documentary but have some everyday and eat nothing junk anymore.

I have recently jumped on the AdvoCare train and eased up on the beer drinking. Got myself back in the weight room and the dojo on a regular basis and am feeling better than I have in years!!

The one I bought was a few hundred but I'm sure there are way cheaper ones. The Guys at Barefoot market said try the one I bought so I did. Thanks Barefoot!!!

Big Pet PEEVE! First off, congrats for any and all changes that have been positive. However, I hate generalizations at almost all levels. It started when I was a teenager and a barber/stylest told me if I continued to wash my hair with bath soap I would be bald by the time I was 25 (58 and still a headfull of hair and wash with soap every time). Then the first dental visit: brush twice a day and floss and don't forget to see the dentist twice a year. Not a good thing but I don't follow any of this and have never had a cavity.

On the other hand: If your family has a history of heart related problems, eat healthy, check your chlorestoral and get checkups regularly.
If colon cancer runns in your family, eat plenty of fiber and get a colonoscopy every time it is scheduled.
If skin cancer runs in your family, wear 50+ block (went to the dermatologist last week) and see the skin doctor at least yearly.

In other words, don't do anything (except loose weight when possible) in general. take proactive responsibility for the things that killed or made your ancestors sick .

A year ago I did a juice fast for about 3 weeks. Then went to juices for 2 meals a day and ate dinner. My juicer was a GE one from Walmart ($60). I am down 90 lbs in a year. I started running (walk jog program) in April. I ran the Houston marathon 3 weeks ago. My life has changed since I saw that fat sick nearly dead movie.

From all the stuff I have read processed foods are the things to avoid. Meat is fine, veggies are fine, the less amount of processing the better.

Any one else have juice recipes? I tried it for a few weeks and never could find a recipe that actually tasted consumable.

I like food documentaries. Farmageddon is a great documentary

Since I started working out 6 days a week at Anytime Fitness in Wharton in Decemeber-=I started to eat better
Drink orange juice every morning. Eat a light breakfast and then either have a big meal for dinner or supper, I try and eat more fruit and fresh veggies. Also cut down on deserts if we eat out. Still have to have either Rib Eye steak, chicken fried steak or fried chicken. Also eat a lot of salads. Also eat baked or broiled fish. My weakness is drinking a lot of tea when we go out. At home I drink cafeine free tea as well as cafeine free Pepsi. Im at a good weight at 155 and have a 32 waist- Hard to believe I was wearing 36 a couple of years ago. Feeling great health wise just need to get more sleep-3-4 hours isn't cutting it

You can get a Breville juicer for about $150. I have had one for a year and no problems. It makes great juice. PM me on SYJ.com if you want more information.
