I remember back in May, Uni Watch had a rename/redesign the Hornets contest. Some guy actually entered the Pelicans nickname.

No doubt the name was inspired by the great Pelican West Band of South Padre Island, Texas.

Are you kiddin' me?.....Pelicans is a great name!......them birds can be some mean sons bitches!.......once at the Gladys Porter Zoo in Brownsville, my sister got too close to the chain link fence...damn thing charged her and bit her right on the nippleonian section!.......Cause if a pelican wants too, it Pelican do anything!.....not only that...their crap smells like....well.....CRAP!!:ack!:
