EARLIER:

San Antonio police have dropped their sexual-assault investigation into Longhorns football players Jordan Hicks and Case McCoy , Hicks’ attorney said Tuesday afternoon.

No charges will be filed, Austin attorney Perry Minton said.

“I just got off the phone with the police a few minutes ago,” Minton said. “Jordan’s family is very pleased, and he’s ready to get back to school and get back to football.”

After Hicks and McCoy were suspended for the Alamo Bowl for violating team rules, Minton had said the two had done nothing wrong after meeting a woman at a club and going back to her hotel room.

“I’ve talked to more witnesses in that bar than you can shake a stick at, and there never was any indication to me or anybody else that Jordan Hicks or Case McCoy did anything inappropriate,” Minton said.

He said that after reading the police report, “I couldn’t see an real allegation in there.”

It doesn't matter who did or didn't do what that night to whom....what matters is that 2 Texas Longhorn teammates representing the Texas Longhorns were drinking in a bar and then followed a woman to a hotel bar sometime thereafter....on the night previous to their bowl game at the Alamodome, for heaven's sake. This is wrong, wrong, wrong....anyway you digest it. It's a terrible reflection on the school, the team, the coaching staff, and their parents....end of story. What an embarrasking thing to do....duh... which way did she go, Bob??? Talk about lack of discipline.....no further comment needed.
