I heard many times this year from some people on here that they have kids on their home town teams that run a 4.3. If you want to see a 4.3, check out the kickoff return by De'Anthony Thomas from Oregon in last nights game. I would be shocked if there are 5 kids in the entire nation in high school that are that fast. And he has run a 4.3 several times.

I just looked up this play on YouTube. What was amusing was his body language upon crossing the plane of the end zone as if he was hitting the tape of a finish line at a track meet.

Maybe in the 80's when they only used stop watches while in reality they were probably a 4.5

More like 4.7-4.9. 10 kids running 4.5=state championship, even in 5a.

In 3a, that's still a state championship team.

All those kids who run a 4.3 seem to run 4.6 when they get timed on a laser.

I've linked the results from the Sparq testing that took place in Oregon for Nike's Opening in which roughly 100 of the top prospects in the nation were invited.

The fastest electronic time for a Texas kid was Plano Prestonwood's Mike Mitchell who ran a 4.45.

LaQuvionte Gonzalez and Dontre Wilson, who junior Olympians in the 4x100, ran 4.52 and 4.51 respectively.

So no, there are not many, if any kids in Texas that run true 4.3's.

The kids you hear about are likely closer to 4.6 than 4.3.

A white LB at that. A physical freak.

And he just committed to Ohio State at the Army AA game today.

Not the fastest time overall. The fastest time of the Texas kids.
