Checking out some data online and it looks like the following schools could be good candidates to move up a class

Lubbock Cooper
Stephenville
Somerset

Dallas ISD could easily have its own 3A (4A) district next realignment as schools like Carter, Pinkston, Seagoville and Lincoln (who opted up) will all likely be at 3A levels

Looks like these 2A schools could move into what will be 4A (still researching)

Bushland
Godley

I could see Hillsboro and Shallowater for sure moving down...their enrollments at the JH levels seem to be trending down some

Under the proposed newer classifications? 1A-6A?

I hope Hillsboro moves down it is tough playing teams like Alvarado and Stephenville. I am sure there will be several West Texas teams drop.

Stephenville would be 5A....looks like based on TEA they had 2 smaller than normal classes come through which caused the drop, but the #'s are back to about 265 per class now

I was referring to the Stephenville haters not the future of the Yellowjacket football team. Drop down with an enrollment of 999 just long enough to win an SC and then move back up? Kinda reminds me of the Celina and 7.5 state championships argument threads.

Stephenville had a great team this past season, even though they found themselves in the easiest division in Texas High School football to win a SC....DI Class 3A. Next year should be the last year of this type of format in 3A. Could they win it again?

Commerce is right on the bubble to move back up. Their enrollment for the grades that will be counted in the next snapshot is exactly 450. Right on the last cutoff.

A few more I found that might be moving up to Old 3A/New 4A: Caddo Mills (475), Pilot Point (465) and Farmersville (464). The last two have bounced back and forth between 2A and 3A.

Don't see much movement between Old 3A and Old 4A in my area, although Princeton (969) is starting to get close and Decatur is above 900. I don't have Frisco Lone Star broken down, but everyone expects them to move up.

I think Lone Star has 2 more years in 3A before the move up...

Got Lone Star's number: 985

If that part of Frisco has grown just a little, they'll be close.

5A under Padilla's 7A alignment? How do they get to 5A by adding one layer at the top of the classifications?

5A either way.....remember 4A will be 5A in 2014

Gotta account for the feeder school (Stafford MS).

if they are rolling 985 right now...I think they'll go up

Do you have the ranges posted somewhere? I thought I saw if they only go to 6A that the new "4A" was 750-1500. Is that not the case?

I think Lamesa and Brownfield will be real close also...

Not right now, just in the grades that will report this fall.

Ahh then I think they'll stay....the count will be Oct...I anticipate the cut line being 1020-1040 so they'll be ok
