Tyler Jones and Brice Gunter put up record setting years and careers at SHS.
Tyler finished the year 263-385-7/ 68%/ 3,992 yards/ 43 TD passing. The 263 completions is a record for a season. His 385 attempts is tied for 2nd with Kelan Luker's 1998. Tyler's 3,992 yards is the 2nd best season ever as are his 43 touchdowns. Both marks are bested only by Kelan Luker's 1998 season. He also added 1,010 yards rushing on 150 attempts with 24 TD's. The 24 rushing TD's is 2nd most ever in a season for SHS. For his career Tyler finished with 1,746 yards rushing on 298 attempts with 30 TDs.
For his career Tyler was 492-749-19/ 66%/ 7,272 yards passing with 77 TD's. He is first in career completions and attempts, 2nd in passing yards, and 2nd in TD passes. He was one TD pass shy of tying the record of 78 TD passes held by Kelan Luker.
Tyler has accounted for 9,018 yards of total offense and 107 touchdowns in his career at SHS When Tyler Jones sign his LOI this February he will become the 9th QB from Stephenville to sign a D1 LOI since 1990.
It was very fitting that #88 finished 2012 with 88 receptions for 1,346 yards and 18 TD's. Brice's 88 receptions is 2nd best in a season behind Cody Cardwell's 112 in 1998. His 1,346 yards is good enough for 4th best season and his 18 TDs is tied with Jason Poston (1990) for 2nd most in a season. For his career Brice finished with 2,474 yards receiving on 158 catches and 33 TD's. His career numbers in both catches and yards is good enough for 3rd most all time in SHS history and his 33 TD's is 2nd most in SHS history.
