What the heck? Coach calls a time out at the snap and his team scores and it is callied off. Then his play ends in his qb being stuffed? It isn't enough for these guys to be fighting the Rattlers but have to deal with their coaches too?

Thanks for the play by play Navscanmaster....enjoying it.So am I, so far. Hope for at least as good an effort by the Rattlers in the second half. They are passing a lot more than the Rattler coaches expected, but one was a double handoff pass with an open receiver. The second was a legit wheel route left undefended. The Rattler defense is playing the run well, but maybe a little cover 1 to the strong side is needed on second down. That seems to be when the Brahmas like to call the pass.

My post was about the first half , Bellville could have been winning this game. That is where the missed opportunties were , big swing with the goal line stand. Guess it hurt's a little not being able to blow out Bellville like you guy's thought, same thing happening with Stephenville. The game is played on the field, it is all about matchups so you can throw the stats out the window.

Hey buddy, I don't know where you are getting your ideas from, but Navasota fans have always respected and enjoyed facing the Bellville Brahmas. Absolutely no vitriol or stupidity in that rivalry. This week is no different. I don't give a crap if we had won it by a come from behind field goal with time expiring. They played a hell of a Brahma team and beat them. Great damn season Brahmas, and congratulations Rattlers!

Most of the blowouts were picked by others, not the Rattler everyday faithful. Second, as for me I said all week that Bellville would have to score 30 or more the win and I did not believe they could. Read my last post before the game to see how much I respect the game on the field.

Remember the TO on the 1 during the play with Bellville scoring but it was called back because the BV coach called a TO and then on 4th down they didn't score? Doesn't that count as Bellville killing themselves? Between those from Stephenville and Navasota posting on this board it is a toss up as to who are the biggest popenjays.

To all Bellville fans:

I want to congratulate your team on a great effort and great game. As always, the Bellville team gave the Rattlers a great game and challenged them all night. The game of High School Football is played by young men with huge pride and big hearts. Winners are those that harness the skills and play with determination and pride. I say that as a compliment to your kids. They never stopped and gave 100% on every play. They represented you town in a way that any parent and fan can be proud of. In this game, the scoreboard reflects that Bellville lost the game, but, they won in the game of life because they showed tonight and all year that they were willing to work hard and play with pride and sportsmanship. I hope that each of you realize how lucky you are to be represented by such fine young students and pat yourself on the back---it is the class of people in that community that set the example that makes these kids winners.

A few key stats: Navasota held Bellville's slot T rushing attack to 83 yards. Bellville had three big pass plays that went for more that their total pass yards (136), as several screens were blown up for losses. The Rattler defense stood tall on their end of the field when it mattered most. Xavier Creeks rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns, on the first night of the year without a Navasota TD pass, although a few throws came close in the endzone. Baker passed for 215 yards, and the Rattlers finished well below their season average with 366 yards of offense, and almost 150 yards and a TD on special teams returns, highlighted by Austin Collins' big return to answer the Brahma's only touchdown.

Yes, Bellville was much more of a complete team than I thought. There is nothing for Brahma Nation to hang their heads about. You guys played one hella game!

Now, to the traffic. What a NIGHTMARE! I took me 30 mintues to get in to the stadium. After the game was over, I sat in the parking lot for an hour trying to get out.. We were all trying to exit through the back exit. As soon as we get to the exit, the Waller Personnel decides to close the gate.

Navasota, what a fantastic game. This game is what high school football is all about. Respect shown on both sides. No cheap shots, no $hit talking, just hard nosed football. Bellville had their chances before the half, and couldn't get it done. The kickoff return and the goal line stand by the Rattlers were game changing. I think going in to the half, the game could have gone either way. If Sota says they weren't nervous, they're fibbing. We didn't have an answer for the rattler D. I think that the Bulls gave them all they wanted and it wasn't the blowout everyone was expecting. Rattlers, back to the drawing board because either we are not as bad as everyone thought, or you are not as good as you think. It will be a war come 4 o'clock next Friday. Congrats on a great win, and a thank you for doing it with class. Bulls, thank you for a season that nobody expected. You gave us old folk a chance to rekindle that Brahma Pride that has been missing. Couldn't be prouder of you. There is nothing to hang your head about. Cherish this great run, you will be talking about the rest of your life. To the underclassmen, get back to work. You have big shoes to fill. Hopefully you have taken notes from this senior class, they are going to be talked about for years to come. Coach Rowe and staff, THANK YOU for everything. I will never forget seeing your trucks up there at the school on Saturdays, and Sundays after church. You found a way to get the fellas to buy in. Can't wait 'till next year.

Very Classy! Thanks OleBull! It's safe to say that Bellville was really good.

I know bellville returns most if their RBs. But anyone have a clue who the QB will be next season?

All their RBs are coming back. No idea on the QB.

One kid that is probably in the running is #14, Wyatt Streider(junior). He is pretty quick, has a great arm and throws a great ball. His brother Blake, #80 started every game at strong side DE as a freshman.

Going to be a junior? Or is a junior this year?

I know the streider kids father. Great guy. That's what I was thinking. Bellville is looking good for next year. They have amazing fight in them. Couldn't be more proud.

He is a junior this year. I think he played on special teams and was 3rd on the depth chart at QB at the beginning of the season. The 2nd QB at the start of the year was #4, Tray/Trey? Jordan. I don't know where they stood on the depth chart later in the year. Streider threw a few passes this year, and I think he completed them all. They used him for the TE or HB pass play. They ran it tonight, but there was too many Rattlers in his face so he ran it for about 8 yards. There may be others in the running. I don't know who was the JV QB.

Brady Zapalac was the J/V quarterback. Has a great chance of taking the postion next year also. He will be a junior next year

[QUOTE=navscanmaster;1730417]Hey buddy, I don't know where you are getting your ideas from, but Navasota fans have always respected and enjoyed facing the Bellville Brahmas. Absolutely no vitriol or stupidity in that rivalry. This week is no different. I don't give a crap if we had won it by a come from behind field goal with time expiring. They played a hell of a Brahma team and beat them. Great damn season Brahmas, and congratulations Rattlers![/QUOTE

Bellville proved that they were good on the field. They played every down and every play to the maximum. They are also a young team in High School football terms. This group of kids should start next year ranked very high. The amount of talent on that field last night can't be taken for granted. I will say it right now---Bellville will be a TOP contender for a state championship next year. Also, player for player, Bellville was the best team that Navasota has faced all year. They are so much better now than they were early in the season. Your coaching staff should be commended for the job they have done this year. The foundation has been laid and it is strong. Next year the last shingle will be in place and Bellville WILL be a handfull for any team that has to face them.

It was said on the radio that Bellville fans were streaming out when the Rattlers got the last touchdown. I have friends and family that attended the game, and they said that there were in fact a lot of red clad fans leaving. You and I both know, as well as OldBison, that not every fan is a thick and thin kind, and many will leave early to beat the rush. That is Navasota included. It may seem tacky pointing it out, but it is the truth. I also have been told that a few thousand remained in the stands, which is still a majority and supported their team. I hate fans leaving early too, but you can't dog a guy for pointing out a fact.

This brings me to my next point, and that is that people need to really, really lighten up on the internet. Face the facts. Internet posters are nothing like real world people. The internet brings out the bravado and stupid in a good portion of those that use it. Just because a poster on the internet says that Navasota will blow Bellville out by 50 before the game does not mean that the "Navasota Fan Base/Team" does not respect the Bellville program. It is tiring to hear the same drivel on here, and on the radio/TV before and after the games. Also, recognize who is making the predictions. If it is the same guy, whether he is a hometown fan or a proxy fan, making the same bold predictions week after week, take it for what it is. Every single Navasota poster on this site was worried about Bellville, but still felt we had the fire power to score on their defense. When HEMOTOXIC retorted the predictions that Bellville would control the Rattler offense, people started with that same old "well I guess Bellville might as well start basketball" crap and accused him of being full of himself. Come on guys, take a step back and think before you post.

This is not all directed at you hook, so don't think I am singling you out because of the quote. Have a good week and God Bless.

I certainly didn't like the pre-game tone of the BB vs NR thread. Go back and take a look at post #2 on that thread and other posts made by the same Navasota rep early in the week. Then you might understand the reaction from the Bellville faithful. I know that had a big impact on the tone of my posts.

That is all in the past though. The game was decided on the field, and what a game it was!
Navasota has the genuine support of everyone in Bellville in your quest for the state championship, several fans and players are talking about making the trip to cheer yall on in person.

Go Rattlers!

It was a good one. It should have been 14-10 Bellville going in to the half. If we dont allow that KO return, and score down on the goal line instead of calling the TO. Those 2 plays were huge momentum changers. But, if grandma had balls.... You know the rest. Cant take anything away from the Rattlers. Hopefully they go on and have a dominating performance in Dallas. We will be pulling for our area team!

The Bellville faithful were not leaving early. They stayed until the end to support and congratulate their team on a great season. The fans you saw leaving were from towns like Sealy, Brenham and Hempstead. It was nice to see them on Bellville side of the stands pulling for Bellville or simply just watching a good semi-final matchup with two area teams.

I will say that the ones that left early were the smart ones for the traffic getting out was horrible. I have never seen anything this poor in college or the pros. The officials in control of this really messed this up and did not plan properly for this large crowd.

Congrats to Bellville on great season and good luck to Navasota this week in state finals.
